The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 1026: Chapter 1026: The World No Longer Needs Vigilante Thieves

As the little girl’s storytelling unfolds, scenes of the male protagonist retiring from the army and becoming a vigilante thief appear in the movie.

At this point, the three Little Cubs have finished their roles, and the subsequent content is unrelated to them. However, the character Little Taotie will reappear as an adult in the final act.

In the movie, a span of ten years.

Ten years later, when the male protagonist once again kills a corrupt official, he falls into an ambush.

He is surrounded by ten people dressed in black. Judging by their figures, all ten are women.

The leading woman has a pair of bright eyes, and upon closer inspection, she looks quite similar to the besieged male protagonist.

The male protagonist barely breaks through an opening and tries to escape, only to be blocked once more by the leading woman. The ensuing scenes are of their duel.

The male protagonist’s sword tip flicks away the woman’s veil, revealing her face.

At that moment, the male protagonist is momentarily stunned.

In a duel between masters, one cannot be distracted, as even a single breath could be fatal.

The long sword pierces the male protagonist’s heart as the woman stands proudly, looking down at him.

The male protagonist coughs up blood, clutching his wound, ”Are you people from the Imperial Court?”

Confronted with a dying man, the woman does not conceal the truth, coldly saying, ”Princess’s secret guard.”

Recalling the Little Princess he saw at the palace ten years ago, the male protagonist asks with a smile, ”Why did the Princess order my death?”

”Though you are a vigilante thief, ultimately, you are still a thief! The corrupt officials are for the Imperial Court to punish, and the suffering commoners have the court’s support and do not need you.”

”After my death, can the Princess ensure that the corrupt officials are punished? Can she provide a place for the refugees, where they can have enough to eat?”

The woman remains silent for a moment, then says, ”Her Royal Highness Princess anticipated your questions and asked me to tell you.”

”Back then, you told her the world outside the palace was far from ideal, disasters and hardships, the people were suffering, could not afford food, and corpses littered the ground. She went to see for herself and felt her response back then was rather naive, disappointing the General. Retiring from the army, you turned to thievery, and she felt guilty.”

”She begged His Majesty to bestow a title, in the name of peace.”

”She is determined to redeem her guilt with an era of peace.”

”When people lacked grain, she learned from books of a type of crop that, once planted, could double its yield annually, known as the potato. Her Highness sent people overseas to seek this crop.”

”I see.” The male protagonist suddenly understands, ”Is the world about to embrace an era of peace? Indeed, an era of peace needs no vigilante thieves.”

”Before I die, I want to ask you one question.”

The woman is surprised, ”Ask me?”

The male protagonist nods, ”When you were six, did you follow your mother and brother southward to escape disaster, pass through a city, but were kept outside the city gates, forced to sell yourself to get your family inside?”

The woman is stunned for a moment, lowers her eyes, ”When I was young, I don’t remember much, but perhaps it’s true. However, by selling myself, I have become the Princess’s blade, a shadow in the dark, unrelated to the past.”

”Is it you?” The male protagonist, barely clinging to life, fixes his gaze on her as if unwilling to take his last breath without an answer.

The woman hesitates for a moment, finally nodding, ”It’s me.”

”It’s you...” The male protagonist smiles gently, ”As long as you’re alive, being alive is good, being alive is good...”

”Father couldn’t find you, feared... feared you were no more... being alive is good...” The voice gradually fades as the male protagonist closes his eyes.

The woman’s subordinates have complicated expressions, lowering their voices, ”Boss, is this... your father?”

The woman gently shakes her head, ”I don’t know, I can’t remember anything before I was six.”

”Then you...”

”Whether it’s me or not doesn’t matter, he’s about to die. By saying it’s me, it’s just to let him die in peace. After all, he was somewhat of a hero.”
