The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 2688: Chapter 2688: Not Concerned with Formalities (1)

Yang Ruxin quickly returned home, and upon hearing the news, Gu Di rushed over immediately: ”Madam, I...”

”Alright, stop bothering me. Hurry and decide when to get married,” Yang Ruxin waved her hand dismissively. She hadn’t expected things to go this smoothly, and it seemed she would be delayed another two days to return.

Gu Di was stunned for a moment, then grinned broadly.

The Empress Dowager acted swiftly, and the next day, Hong Ye was sent out, although the Empress Dowager promised that when the marriage takes place, she would have Zhuo Xiaohua come to send Hong Ye off.

Yang Ruxin gifted Gu Di a small courtyard, not far from the General Residence. There were two courtyards there, both purchased by Yang Ruxin, with the thought that they would be given to those who work for her in the future.

The share given to Hong Ye was ten percent of the hotpot restaurant. Although she would be dedicated even without it, human nature is the most vulnerable to scrutiny. Over time, other thoughts might arise, but if she has a stake in it, she will genuinely treat it as her own matter to manage.

Hong Ye couldn’t decline, and in the end, accepted it tearfully.

Initially, Yang Ruxin felt it would take at least a few months to get married. After all, Hong Ye was not an orphan; she had a family, and once she left the palace, she reverted to her original name. For the marriage, at least her family had to be informed.

Hong Ye’s real name was Zhuo Xiaohua, a name with a particularly rustic feel.

However, Hong Ye refuse the kindness of Yang Ruxin, indicating she did not care about formalities.

”When I was born, my mother wanted to drown me, because I had two elder sisters, and my family wanted a son. It was my grandmother who kept me around. Later, when I was seven, my father wanted to sell me into the mountains to be a child bride to three sons of a family, as a shared wife, for money that could be spent on my brother.” Hong Ye spoke calmly, ”It was my grandmother who pleaded with the village chief, and so I wasn’t sent away. Later, a girl from our village who entered the palace as a palace maid was released after she got too old. I begged her, and entered the palace myself, but all the Silver from my monthly stipend went to my family for ten years. Now, that family has nothing to do with me.” Her grandmother had already passed away, and she truly didn’t want any connection with that family anymore.

Yang Ruxin nodded: ”If you’ve thought it through, then in the future, the General Residence will be both your maiden home and your marital home.”

Hong Ye’s eyes turned red.

”Let’s not get sentimental. I’m counting on you two to earn money for me,” Yang Ruxin quickly waved her hand, ”Also, your name Xiaohua is too rustic. I’ll change it to Zhuo Xiaohua, with ’Xiao’ as in dawn and ’Hua’ as in splendor, how about that?”

”Thank you, madam.” Hong Ye, now Zhuo Xiaohua, swallowed down the lump of emotion in her nose and nodded vigorously, ”Now that I’ve accepted Gu Di, I just want to marry him soon and have madam witness our wedding.”

Gu Di also nodded; he wanted to bring home his wife sooner.

”Since that’s the case, you two can get married tomorrow,” Yang Ruxin decided directly. ”Anyway, we have all the wedding clothes and such in the embroidery store. Let’s go, hurry up and pick some out; if there’s anything unsuitable, you can have the prospective mother-in-law of Prince Yi amend it for you.”

Although Wei Yao was now the prospective princess of Prince Yi, Wei Bingcen and his wife still decided to continue managing the embroidery store themselves. They didn’t want to be seen as relying on their daughter in the future, besides they were capable, and it was no problem continuing to work.
