21: Chapter 21 Winning Over Peng Rizhao: The Future of the Mobile Phone Market”What? Only selling for 2999?!”

Peng Rizhao was dumbfounded once again.

”Little Boss Bai, you’re not joking, are you?

Do you know how significant this phone is?

Being able to run a game at 60 FPS...

and on a phone at that!

This was unthinkable before!

Even on a PC, 60 FPS is considered a very high-end spec!

With such high specs...

you’re only selling it for 2999?

Aren’t you just doing charity?!”

Peng Rizhao was completely stunned.

”Little Boss Bai, I’m getting more and more curious about your channels.

Of course, I’m not prying,

and you don’t have to tell me.

But regardless,

I still think you’re selling at a loss, aren’t you?

Why don’t you try to make some money?

Stop doing charity.

If you really go bankrupt from the losses,

how are we going to collaborate later!”

In Peng Rizhao’s view,

this was simply impossible.

First, he agreed with Bai Jingqing’s claim that honor of kings would become a phenomenal mobile game,

one that would be known by everyone, young and old,

with everyone playing it,

completely turning into a social game.

He acknowledged this point.

Because Penguin grew by doing social networking,

it was very much possible

if a game was made with even stronger social attributes.

After all, like the current QQ Farm’s crop-stealing,

and WeChat’s Shake and Drift Bottle features,

the main focus is social interaction.

If honor of kings could also become a social game,

then the prospects could only be described as very broad.

However, as for Bai Jingqing’s claim that the first version of this game would be poorly optimized,

to the point where 95% of devices on the market wouldn’t be able to run it smoothly,

he was somewhat skeptical about that.

He didn’t believe Tencent would be that stupid.

Didn’t the people at Tencent know that the higher the specs a game requires,

the fewer people will play it?

If the game really was optimized that poorly,

it would basically be scrapped at Tencent.

With such poor optimization,

no one would be able to play it,

so what would be the point of publishing it?

They might as well not release it.

If you said Tencent was doing it for technical innovation,

releasing the game just to show off their skills,

he wouldn’t believe it in a million years.

How could he not know Tencent’s true nature?

Yet, at this juncture,

just as Bai Jingqing said,

if everyone else couldn’t even run it smoothly,

while his phone could run it at 60 FPS,

then this phone would definitely be a massive hit!

Setting aside the performance boost,

the more crucial point was that Bai Jingqing was only selling it for 2999?

If this isn’t fucking charity, then what is it?

If other manufacturers had such a phone,

they’d probably sell it for 22,999!

And plenty of consumers would still pay for it!

What on earth was Little Boss Bai thinking?

Seeing the deep disbelief and doubt in Peng Rizhao’s eyes,

Bai Jingqing didn’t say much.

He just patted Peng Rizhao’s shoulder and said, ”I know you don’t believe me right now.

You don’t believe this phone can smoothly run honor of kings at 60 FPS,

nor do you believe I’m selling it for only 2999.

But anyway, there’s no rush.

Once honor of kings is updated later,

you’ll know if I was right.”

Peng Rizhao shook his head repeatedly and said, ”No!

Little Boss Bai,

I believe you!

What you said earlier,

I think was very noble.

’Letting everyone enjoy the fun of technological progress’—

I think that should also become my mission,

and the mission of everyone in the smartphone industry.

Little Boss Bai,

I believe you!

I’m willing to work with you!

It’s just 2999, right?

It’s not that expensive.

When the time comes, it’ll still be a straightforward transaction of cash for goods.

I’d sell my house and car to come buy it!

Of course, at 2999, I don’t actually need to sell my house or car,

but I’ll definitely be there to support you!”

Bai Jingqing nodded.

Looking at the small-time boss Peng Rizhao in front of him,

the more he looked, the more he appreciated him.

If for nothing else,

then for the drive and energy this man possessed!

If any other ordinary boss heard him say such unrealistic things,

they probably wouldn’t believe him at all,

and might even think he was pipe dreaming.

But this Peng Rizhao chose to believe.

Whether it was out of flattery,

or genuine belief,

he appreciated the man nonetheless.

He said, ”Do you know Huayao Technology?”

Peng Rizhao nodded, ”Of course I do.

How could anyone in the phone business not know Huayao Technology?

The previous Huayao Phones were indeed impressive,

with a lot of cutting-edge technology.
