Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Capítulo 2407: Chapter 2300: Trained to Be Fearless

The villagers who couldn’t bear to watch this scene all closed their eyes, waiting to see the sight after the pig was dead and gutted.

Who would have thought, Zhang Laosan had no experience in slaughtering pigs.

The pig struggled and screamed, and as the blood flowed, suddenly it began to decrease.

Moreover, its strength was so great that it seemed it was about to break free from the rope.

“Zhang Laosan, your technique isn’t working! One stab won’t kill it!”

“The screaming is too miserable, I can’t bear to listen!”

Zhang Laosan also panicked, covered in blood himself, but the pig wasn’t dead.

Ning Chenguang felt deeply uncomfortable watching this scene; eating pork on regular days is one thing, watching a pig being slaughtered is another.

He wasn’t scared at all, his courage had long been trained by his mother, An Hao.

Once, An Hao took him to the Military Medical University to find Yan Ye, he was so mischievous that he ran around everywhere and accidentally went to the anatomy building.

He saw with his own eyes as Yan Ye gave an anatomy lesson to everyone, the scene was too impactful for him, he vomited until the sky turned dark at such a young age.

Normally, when children get scared and vomit

they are comforted and kept away from such places.

But his mother, An Hao, went against the norm, not only did she not keep him away, she took him to see anatomy whenever there was time.

Fortunately, he had enough courage not to be frightened into a mental illness.

After a few days of nightmares, he adapted.

Therefore, watching pigs being slaughtered was nothing to him, he wasn’t afraid of blood, nor of wounds, it was just seeing a life suffer from such pain that he couldn’t bear.

Though he knew that a pig’s fate was to end up as meat on people’s tables.

“Hey, aren’t you scared…” Pang Di turned his head to ask Ning Chenguang.

“Not scared!” Ning Chenguang shook his head.

“Probably need another stab, maybe two more…” Pang Di said.

“It’s okay.” Ning Chenguang replied lightly.

He didn’t take this matter to heart at all.

“Your courage is quite impressive…” Pang Di had never seen a five-year-old kid who didn’t cover his eyes.

The scene was too shocking, most kids would be scared.

“Another stab! Another stab!” Those whose courage surged at the sight of blood were extremely excited at this situation.

“This… this…” Zhang Laosan was a bit hesitant, in the village, pigs are usually slaughtered with no more than two stabs.

If two stabs couldn’t kill it, no one would dare to give it a third stab.

It was rumored that pigs hold grudges and would come back to seek revenge in the next life.

This was the village’s superstition, but everyone firmly believed it.

“Uncle Zhang.” At this moment Ning Chenguang stepped forward, “Give it another stab here…”

He walked forward under everyone’s surprised gaze, pointing to the spot between the pig’s two legs, near the neck.

“Go, go, go, what do kids know!” Zhang Laosan shooed Ning Chenguang away, “Slaughtering pigs is all about draining blood, and to drain blood you stab the neck! Who stabs in between the legs!”

“You’ve already stabbed it once, but it’s too tense and its muscles tightened, so the blood isn’t flowing. If you stab it again, and the muscles tighten, you won’t even be able to pull the knife out!” Ning Chenguang shouted loudly.

“This kid makes a lot of sense.”

The villagers nodded in agreement.

“Go on.” Zhang Laosan pondered for a moment, realizing there was indeed some reason in what he said.

“The pig is already in great pain.” Ning Chenguang glanced at the pitiful pig, took a deep breath, and said, “The spot I’m telling you about is the pig’s heart. If you stab it and twist forcefully, it will die instantly! In less than thirty seconds!”

Once the heart is pierced, the pig instantly loses its strength, its heart stops beating, and it naturally dies.
