Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2295: Chapter 2288: You Little Rascal, Are You Trying to Make Me Furious?

Yan Huan had just run out and hadn’t even left the hallway when she bumped into Feng Yuzhi.

”Where are you running off to? Get back here!” Feng Yuzhi’s shout almost scared the soul out of Yan Huan.

”Mom! You’re not gone yet?” Yan Huan patted her chest, trying to calm her racing heart as she complained, ”You’re like the two guardian generals at the gates. It’s just a blind date, is it that serious?”

”Yes! I see all these years you’ve been using your little smarts just to deal with me. If you’re so capable, then find a man and bring him home!” Feng Yuzhi was truly frustrated with Yan Huan’s lack of progress.

”Mom, let me be straightforward with you. Ji Chuan and I are not suitable!” Yan Huan decided not to beat around the bush and directly laid her cards on the table with Feng Yuzhi.

”You think you’re not suitable, but I think he’s quite right for you. I’ve asked around about Ji Chuan. He’s a good kid, doesn’t smoke or drink, no bad habits at all, and he’s a top surgeon in General Surgery! Most importantly, the kid likes you too. I’m thinking if Ji Chuan agrees, I’ll make the decision for you.” Feng Yuzhi felt she couldn’t just let Yan Huan do as she pleased anymore.

This child has been so headstrong from a young age, and she and Old Yan have spoiled her too much, leading her to do things her own way.

”Comrade Old Feng, this is arranged marriage! This is illegal! This is New China, not the old society! I am the new generation growing under the red flag, how can I let you, a pampered lady from the old capitalist society, oppress and persecute me!” Yan Huan declared righteously.

”Are you trying to drive me mad, you little ancestor?” Fortunately, this wasn’t the chaotic era anymore, otherwise, saying such a thing would have gotten her a trip to labor reform or public criticism.

”How would I dare!” Yan Huan chuckled, ”Comrade Old Feng, I promise to seriously consider the next blind date I go on!”

”Seriously, my foot! Get back here!”

”I won’t!”

”Get back!”

”I won’t!”

”You’ve turned against me!” Feng Yuzhi’s fiery temper flared up, and she rolled up her sleeves, grabbed Yan Huan’s ear, and started dragging her towards Ji Chuan’s office, ”I’ll show you what’s what—you clearly don’t know when the king has three eyes!”

”Mom, mom, mom! Let go of me! It’s so embarrassing!” Yan Huan wailed as people passed by in the hallway, this was definitely making her lose face completely.

”It’s good you feel embarrassed. Behave, and I’ll let go of you once we reach Ji Chuan.”

In the office, Ji Chuan was lowering his head, working on a surgery plan.

He had been single for so many years that he was used to it. His attitude towards love was just like Yan Huan’s—he wouldn’t settle. If he couldn’t find someone who shared his goals, he’d rather stay single for life.

As he was brooding, the door suddenly opened with a click.

He looked up and was so shocked by the scene before him that his jaw almost dropped.

”Ji Chuan! I’m leaving Huanhuan with you! Don’t let her go home until it’s dark!” Feng Yuzhi said as she tossed Yan Huan in.

”Don’t worry, Auntie! I will fully implement your policy!” Ji Chuan agreed with a smile.

The door was closed once again.

Yan Huan sat there deflated like a balloon, sinking into the chair: ”Ji Chuan, I’m done for! Please lend me a novel so I can pass the time here.”

Ji Chuan looked at Yan Huan’s pitiful expression, put his pen aside and said, ”Alright, let’s chat about something? I’ll keep you company to pass the time.”
