Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2294: Chapter 2287: We’re Not Suitable for Each Other

”Don’t call me Yan Huan’s little sister, it sounds so awkward!” Yan Huan frowned and gave Feng Yuzhi a pat. ”Mom, is this the guy you set me up with?”

”Why? Is that a problem?” Feng Yuzhi, playing the future mother-in-law, the more she looked at him, the more she liked him. ”I think Ji Chuan is quite nice! Last time when I accompanied your Aunt Zhang to the hospital, I took a liking to him at first sight! Later, I found out he’s friends with your brother.”

At this point, Feng Yuzhi couldn’t help but grumble about her son who didn’t show the slightest concern about his sister’s matters.

Clearly there was such a great resource nearby, yet he made no attempt to introduce him to his sister.

”Mom, you just said he’s my brother’s friend. If Ji Chuan and I date, how awkward would their relationship be in the future!” Yan Huan shook her head and turned to walk out.

”Come back here.” Feng Yuzhi’s face darkened, tightly grabbing Yan Huan’s arm and threatened, ”Dare to leave! If you walk out, see if I ever speak to you again!”

”Moooom——!” Yan Huan dragged out the word helplessly, ”Please, can we pick someone else?”

”No.” Feng Yuzhi said with a stern face, ”Why are you worrying so much about this? Doesn’t Yan Ye still call Qin Jian brother? And call An Hao sister-in-law? What’s the big deal?”

”Moooom——!”

”Alright. That’s enough!” Feng Yuzhi finished scolding her daughter, then turned to Ji Chuan, apologetically saying, ”Huanhuan is just being childish! Don’t mind her! I hope you both can have a good talk and get to know each other better!”

Ji Chuan had a simple smile on his lips: ”Don’t worry, Auntie. I’ll definitely have a chat with Yan Huan! I actually quite like girls with her kind of genuine temperament!”

”Oh, well, that’s wonderful!” Feng Yuzhi said happily, ”I’ll get going now! I’ll leave you two some time!”

”Go on, go on!” Yan Huan couldn’t wait for her to leave.

”Auntie, let me see you out.” Ji Chuan got up from behind the desk.

”No need, no need! You two chat! I’ll go on my own.” Feng Yuzhi waved her hand and then left with a laugh.

”Have a seat.” Ji Chuan smiled, making tea for Yan Huan.

”Don’t bother. You know why I’m here, right?” Yan Huan casually ran her fingers through her hair.

”A matchmaking date!” Ji Chuan said with a smile.

”Not exactly. It’s to fulfill my mom’s wish. She wants me to go on this date, so here I am. But between us...”

”It’s quite suitable between us.” Ji Chuan interrupted directly.

”How so? You’re my brother’s friend, and anyway, there’s no real feelings between us.” Yan Huan promptly rejected Ji Chuan, ”I think we shouldn’t waste any more time.”

”So, what you’re saying is?”

”Let’s just end it here for today, Ji Chuan. I’m leaving.” Yan Huan said, standing up.

”Wait a moment.” Ji Chuan quickly called after Yan Huan, ”I don’t think we’re unsuitable. Setting aside the fact that I’m friends with your brother, I feel we could give it a try...”

”No, no, no!” Yan Huan waved her hands repeatedly, ”I think let’s just forget it. I don’t feel anything for you. That’s it, goodbye!”

Having said that, Yan Huan stood up and practically dashed out like she was escaping.

”Am I really that unlikable?” Ji Chuan furrowed his brows, clearly in a foul mood.
