Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2113: Chapter 2108: Going All Out to Please

”But... I really don’t want Teacher Yuan to leave!” Ning Chenguang looked at Qin Jian, who was standing at the door, with a wronged expression and said, ”Dad... I miss Mom.”

Qin Jian came over, sat down, and gently hugged Chenguang, saying, ”Let Teacher Yuan go back. It’s too late. It’ll be the same with Dad accompanying you.”

”Tell twenty stories!” Ning Chenyang said.

”Okay.”

”Take us to the park tomorrow.”

”Okay. I promise you both,” Qin Jian said.

”Alright then...” Ning Chenguang nodded, swallowing his grievances.

”Captain Qin, since you’ve comforted the kids, I’ll head out,” Yuan Yunong said helplessly.

”Alright. Let me see you to the door.”

Qin Jian had just opened the door for Yuan Yunong when he saw Zhao Dong standing at the door, panting, ”Captain! Yunong, I’m here!”

”Why are you just getting here?”

”Why are you just getting here?”

Qin Jian and Yuan Yunong complained in unison.

”What? Am I late here? It’s not late, right? I think I smell the aroma of food already,” Zhao Dong sniffed the air filled with the smell of food, ”Just in time for dinner! It seems skipping the canteen dinner was the right choice! I’m in for a treat today!”

”I’m about to leave,” Yuan Yunong said regretfully, ”Why don’t you stay for dinner?”

”Leaving? Where are you going? Don’t leave! I ran all the way here, panting, you can’t just leave like that!” Zhao Dong said as he gently touched Yuan Yunong’s hand.

Yuan Yunong turned to look at Qin Jian, her smile a bit awkward, ”Chenguang is sick. I originally came to help take care of the kids. But, Captain Qin here, worried about misunderstandings, suggested I should head back.”

”Is that so? Now that I’m here, what misunderstandings can there be? Don’t worry! There will absolutely be no misunderstandings! Stay, Yunong! Please?” Zhao Dong pleaded.

Since they met, for these few months, he had patiently been getting closer to Yunong, and finally made some progress.

Yuan Yunong agreed to give him a chance to see how things could go.

If they sparked during their interactions, then they would try to see where things led.

He wasn’t getting any younger, and he was not willing to give up on a woman he fancied.

”Since Zhao Dong is here, you should stay! Teacher Yuan, I’m not as heartless as you might think! I just don’t want to cause unnecessary misunderstandings; it’s not good for you, me, or anyone else! I don’t want your good intentions to be taken advantage of,” Qin Jian explained his earlier actions.

”I am fine with that. I’m not upset, I just want the two kids to be okay! I like them and promised An Hao I would take good care of them...” Yuan Yunong repeatedly stated she had no other intentions.

”Since everyone has said so, what are we waiting for? Come on in! I’m starving, let’s wash up and start eating!” Zhao Dong grabbed Yuan Yunong’s wrist and led her inside.

As soon as he stepped in, he began to enthusiastically make gestures of goodwill.

He ran back and forth from the living room to the kitchen, serving the food, setting the chopsticks, and during dinner, kept encouraging Yuan Yunong to eat more, constantly adding food to her plate.

Ning Chenyang, sitting on a small stool, holding chopsticks in one hand and a bowl in the other, watched the big chunks of eggs from his plate fly into Teacher Yuan’s bowl.
