Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1955: Chapter 1948 Retribution Unavoidable

”Your second uncle is sick! He has cancer. The doctor says it requires a large sum of money for treatment. You know our situation. We simply have no money to talk about treatment,” Jiang Guixiang said as tears started to fall.

After all, he’s the man she’s been with for half of her life. No matter how good or bad he is, he is still her family.

”Is there any point in bringing this topic up again?” An Hao said helplessly, ”Last year you said that second uncle had cancer! I saw him eating and drinking, squandering all my father’s family assets. Last time when he was hospitalized, the doctor said he had cancer!”

”This time, it’s real! Lung cancer, just diagnosed by the doctor!” Jiang Guixiang feared An Hao wouldn’t believe her, so she had to take out his medical record from her pocket to show An Hao.

Half-doubting, she glanced at the medical record, and indeed, it said: Lung cancer, mid-to-late stage!

She couldn’t quite tell what she was feeling at the moment, just felt a bit of a block in her chest.

”Now it’s really happened, someone got cancer!” she sighed softly, ”I don’t know what you all were thinking before, you’re fine, yet insist on cursing yourself to be sick.”

But now he really is sick!

”We were wrong before, maybe it’s heaven’s retribution!” Jiang Guixiang said, beating her chest, ”Now we are at a dead end. If An Hao doesn’t help us, your second uncle is doomed!”

”How can I help you?” An Hao asked, looking at her.

”Money! I need money! With money, your second uncle’s life can be saved!” Jiang Guixiang said.

”Let me think about it! You go back first!”

”An Hao, I’m begging you! Please, this time! As long as you give me the money, I’ll kneel down to you!” Jiang Guixiang said, then fell heavily to her knees on the floor.

”Don’t do this! Get up! Aunt, if you kneel to me, it’s like cutting my life!” An Hao quickly bent down to help her up.

”Then promise me to give me money to help your second uncle get treated!” Jiang Guixiang clutched her sleeve and said.

”I... will help you. You get up first.” An Hao reluctantly agreed.

In the end, should she help or not?

How to help?

All these depend on the situation.

She didn’t want to be a fool, but she couldn’t really do nothing and watch him die.

”Great, An Hao, you’re a good person. Good things will happen to good people!” Jiang Guixiang said flatteringly.

”Where is he? Take me to see him!” An Hao said.

”He’s at home. He couldn’t take it once the results came out yesterday, and today he’s completely listless! So, I came alone.”

”Then you go back first!”

”The money... you haven’t given it to me yet!” Jiang Guixiang said cautiously, looking at An Hao’s face.

”You want me to give you money now? I’m at work, and I don’t have much money on me. I said I would first understand the situation. You go first, I still have work to do! I promise you, I’ll remember what I promised.” An Hao said.

Reluctantly, Jiang Guixiang left. An Hao looked at her departing figure and sighed deeply.

This truly is a troublesome time!

An Hao did not return to the department, but went directly to the internal medicine department.

She looked for the old military doctor who treated her second uncle to understand his situation thoroughly.

When she arrived, there were many people in line for consultations here.

An Hao waited patiently for a while, and only after his patients were all seen did she go in to greet the old military doctor.
