Chapter 1869: Chapter 1869: Make Up for It Double

Hong Mei’s steps paused as she turned around, her hoarse voice carrying a faint trace of sadness: ”It’s all taken care of, don’t worry.”

”You sound a bit upset?” Cang Lang, with keen insight, noticed the change in her.

”No. I only hate her. She’s dead, I’m free.” After saying this, Hong Mei hid her face again with a thick scarf and left.

The closer it got to the Spring Festival, the stronger the festive atmosphere became.

Last year was dreadful, An Hao still remembers the taste of the tears.

This year it’s better, their family can reunite.

Qin Jian bought the return train ticket, expecting to arrive in Nancheng City by the afternoon.

After being apart for three months, he is finally coming back.

The whole family was very excited, getting up early. Zhang Yun took Ning Yibin to the market to buy ingredients. After lunch, they were at home slaughtering chickens and fish, starting to prepare a sumptuous dinner.

Upstairs, An Hao sat in front of the dressing mirror, carefully applying makeup.

Then she dressed the two little ones neatly, holding one in each arm as she came down the stairs.

Outside, Xiaoliu the guard had already prepared the car, and they were about to leave for the train station to pick up Qin Jian.

Zhang Yun was making dumplings in the kitchen. Hearing An Hao’s voice, she came out still holding the dough: ”It’s cold outside, wear something thick! Come back quickly after picking him up.”

”I know, Mom!” An Hao answered.

”Oh my, these two precious little grandsons are going to pick up their daddy!” Zhang Yun looked lovingly at the little ones, ”Haven’t seen you for three months, you’ve grown so tall. Your dad will surely be very happy to see you. Off you go!”

An Hao had been to this train station many times.

Almost every time was to send Qin Jian away, thinking about their previous life living apart as a couple, it still feels vivid as if it were yesterday.

Accompanied by a long whistle, the train slowly pulled into the station, the platform bustling with people waiting for friends and family.

Each person craned their necks, looking into the train windows, searching for their loved ones.

Qin Jian got off the train carrying his luggage, breathed in the brisk, fresh air, and looked around.

He immediately saw An Hao, standing not far away. She was wearing a bright red coat, standing out in the crowd.

She was holding their two chubby sons in her arms, standing in the wind and snow, looking at him with a smile.

A wave of warmth surged through Qin Jian’s heart as he strode quickly towards An Hao.

”Honey, I’m back!”

”Yes.” An Hao smiled, a blush creeping up her cheeks. ”It’s good to have you home. I... missed you a lot...”

Her shy admission of missing him melted Qin Jian’s heart into a puddle.

He couldn’t care less about being in a busy train station, nor about the guard watching them. He wrapped An Hao and the children in his arms and lowered his head to kiss her lips.

”Oh... stop it.” An Hao blushed, tilting her head slightly, catching the teasing smile from the guard nearby in her peripheral vision.

”Why? Kissing my wife is called causing a scene?” Qin Jian looked at him, his gaze intense.

”In public! So embarrassing!” An Hao playfully chided.

”Not letting me kiss now, no problem. When we get home, I’ll make up for it double.” Qin Jian whispered into An Hao’s ear.

”Hmm.” An Hao hummed softly, her ears turning red along with her cheeks.
