Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1686: Chapter 1686: The Child Decides Their Own Future

”Alright, alright.” Before Ning Yibin and Qin Jian finished exchanging words, Zhang Yun interrupted their conversation, ”Whenever we’re at the dinner table, you only talk about these issues. Can’t our family conversation topics be something fresher.”

Daytime talk, night time also talk, the whole family just listens to them talk about this.

”Your mom has opinions again.” Ning Yibin said with a smile as he looked at Zhang Yun, ”Can’t we talk about work-related stuff?”

”But we’re at home now. When the family is eating, it’s just you two talking over the table. An Hao and I can’t even get a word in.”

”Okay okay, let’s talk about something that lets you join the conversation now, you talk.” Ning Yibin said helplessly with a smile.

”Don’t say I didn’t warn you, I actually do have something to discuss.” Today while free during the day, Zhang Yun called old Mrs. Xiao, ”In two days it’s the old lady’s birthday! And coincidentally it’s also the day when Qiushu’s shop opens.”

”Nanguofeng is opening?” An Hao was quite surprised, ”She’s really quick. It hasn’t even been a few months and it’s already opening.”

”Yeah, the old lady wants us all to go to Nanguofeng. Qiushu will prepare a big table for it,” Zhang Yun said with a smile.

”Sure, I have no objections. The kids and I can go anytime,” An Hao enthusiastically responded.

”What about you two?” Zhang Yun looked at her husband and then at her son.

”I’ll try to make it!” Qin Jian could not give a definite answer.

”Me too,” Ning Yibin said.

”Look at this, look at this. What’s so good about being a soldier? Always soaking at the base and can’t manage any home affairs. When these two grandsons of mine grow up, no way can they be allowed to become soldiers,” Zhang Yun started getting heated up talking about this.

”You see. I notice your temper has really been flaring up lately,” Ning Yibin said, ”Why can’t your enlightenment rise? Being a soldier is to serve the motherland, ensuring the country’s peace and people’s safety! If we soldiers didn’t protect our country, how would the common people have peaceful days?”

”Yes! The common people have peaceful days, but what about us mother and son? My husband is a soldier, my son is also a soldier, does my grandson still need to be a soldier?” Being a soldier is still a human, one must also have their own family.

Too obsessed with military affairs, who can see the hardships of a military wife.

”Let’s not talk about this topic anymore.” An Hao knew that this matter couldn’t be resolved in a short time, and the kids are still far from grown-up, so it’s not too late to discuss it later.

”Yes, mom! When the kids grow up, just let them choose for themselves,” Qin Jian agreed with An Hao’s words.

”Okay. Then we’ve agreed, whatever profession they choose in the future, it’s up to the kids to decide,” Zhang Yun stated emphatically by slamming the table.

”Okay, are you satisfied now?” Ning Yibin said.

”Satisfied.”

”Satisfied? Then let’s eat,” Ning Yibin said and began to dig into his meal.

An Hao suddenly thought, since the old lady is inviting guests, she shouldn’t just be inviting them.

Yan Ye and Qiushu had more or less confirmed their feelings for each other last time.

Then, will the two families meet again this time?

”Mom, has the old lady invited anyone from the Yan Family?” An Hao asked.

”No. It seems the old lady probably wants to pick another time to have a good talk with the Yan Family. But don’t worry, their union should be near,” Zhang Yun said with a beaming smile, ”I really didn’t expect to end up being related to the Yan Family.”
