Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1501: Chapter 1501: Locking Down the Search Area

”There’s no address,” An Hao pointed to the spot altered with pencil and said, ”This must have been deliberately changed. What I don’t understand is, if they don’t want to expose their address, why would they send someone to deliver a letter? Is there something special about their address, or is there some secret that cannot be shared with others?”

”You’re thinking the same as me,” Yan Ye said.

”If that’s the case, isn’t Qin Jian now in the center of danger?” After the initial excitement and agitation, An Hao immediately sank into deep worry.

”The priority is to find out where Qin Jian is. Who was the messenger?” Yan Ye said with regret, ”I once sat in the same vehicle as that messenger, but I didn’t know he was delivering a letter for Qin Jian. At that time, I even found him annoyingly talkative; thinking about it now, I truly regret it.”

”You can’t blame yourself,” Zhang Yun wiped away her tear-soaked eyes, ”Maybe it’s fate. Many things are predestined.”

”But how can we find him without a single clue?” An Hao was somewhat troubled.

”Yes,” Zhang Yun grew more and more impatient, ”Is there any clue about the messenger? It would be troubling if my son fell into the hands of villains.”

”I don’t think you need to worry about that. If Qin Jian really encountered bad people, it’s absolutely impossible that he would be well cared for and even have someone send a message...” As Yan Ye was analyzing, he suddenly heard the sound of someone reporting from outside the door, ”Report! Guard platoon Xiaoliu...”

”That’s enough, Xiaoliu. No need to report, come on in quickly.” Zhang Yun opened the door and pulled Xiaoliu in, ”Do you have something to say?”

”That’s right,” Xiaoliu stepped aside to reveal a young warrior standing behind him, ”This is someone from my hometown. He said he has an important message for the Commander.”

Zhang Yun and An Hao both knew this young warrior.

He was a sentry at the entrance of the military district compound.

Their guard platoon was small, and they rotated shifts at the sentry post, so the families in the residential compound were all well-acquainted.

”Report. I am Li Ran from the third squad of the guard platoon. I have an important situation to report to the superior,” Li Ran spoke with a solemn and serious expression.

”The superior isn’t at home. If you have something to say, just tell us! Or, I can give him a call...” Zhang Yun said.

”No, there’s no need. Talking to you is just the same,” Li Ran said, scratching his head awkwardly, ”Some time ago, a young man who delivered a letter told me to pass on a message, he said he lost his letter and asked me to tell Colonel Qin’s wife that he’s not dead! He’s healing! At the time, I didn’t know Colonel Qin had fallen in the earthquake relief mission, so I thought it was nonsense and didn’t take it seriously. Later, when the news was announced, I realized... I nearly delayed a critical matter.”

”It’s not your fault. What’s most important now is to find out where he is from,” An Hao asked.

”Near Lai City by his accent,” the young warrior scratched his ear, ”I’ve visited the home of a comrade before; he’s from around Lai City. It seems like he said Dongshan Town, Dongshan Village...”

An Hao’s eyes lit up, ”That’s fantastic! Thank you so much!”

With this, the search area was instantly narrowed down; a village doesn’t have many people, and if we search house by house, there definitely won’t be a problem.
