Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1271: Chapter 1271: The Crazy Godmother

Zhang Yun heard Qin Jian’s plan, gave a double thumbs-up to indicate approval, and urged him to stay a few more days. It wouldn’t be too late for An Hao to come back when she was in a better mood.

An Hao also felt that she had been cooped up at home long enough, and that getting out to clear her mind would be good. Hearing that she would be away for a few days, she decided to pack more things in case of emergency.

That evening, she was upstairs sorting out clothes.

Suddenly, a lively noise came from downstairs, and it sounded like Gu Shuangshuang’s voice was familiar.

Just as she put down her clothes and was about to go downstairs to see, Zhang Yun’s voice came up: ”An Hao, Gu Shuangshuang is here to see you!”

”I’ll be right down,” she called out.

”No, I’ll come up,” Gu Shuangshuang had barely finished speaking when she started coming upstairs.

Having not seen An Hao for a few months and suddenly noticing her round waist and bulging belly, Gu Shuangshuang couldn’t help but laugh out loud: ”You really look like a big bear now!”

”Pah! I knew no good words would come out of your mouth,” An Hao glared at Gu Shuangshuang before continuing, ”You’ve finally come back!”

”And you’re calling me out! You heartless little thing, getting pregnant without telling me, such a big event happening in the hospital and you didn’t even mention it! If it weren’t for Lei Linxuan telling me, I’d have had no clue,” Gu Shuangshuang poked An Hao’s head and complained.

”You had your own issues at home, and I couldn’t help, so why bother you with these things?” More than two months ago, Gu Shuangshuang had told her that her mother was not well, had undergone major surgery, and needed her to take care of her for a while.

An Hao didn’t expect that she would be gone for two months.

”But you’ve got to tell me the good news!” Gu Shuangshuang stroked An Hao’s round belly and said with a smile, ”Like the existence of this little guy. You should have told me, right? I have to be his godmother!”

No sooner had she finished speaking than the little baby in the belly gave her a kick.

The kick excited Gu Shuangshuang so much: ”Wow, see? Mentioning me being his godmother has got him dancing for joy!”

”He’s protesting,” An Hao giggled, ”He doesn’t want a crazy godmother like you!”

”You’re the crazy one,” Gu Shuangshuang retorted, continuing to rub An Hao’s belly, ”This little guy seems pretty chubby, huh? Only four months and your belly is this big already!”

”Wrong,” An Hao held up two fingers, ”There are two treasures in the belly.”

”My goodness, you’re really good at this, aren’t you?” Gu Shuangshuang exclaimed excitedly, ”Do you know yet if they are boys or girls in there?”

”Boy or girl, they’re my kids, I don’t care about their gender.” An Hao smiled, the expression of happiness evident on her face.

”That’s right,” Gu Shuangshuang agreed with that remark.

”How’s your aunt? How has she been after the surgery?” An Hao inquired.

”She’s better now. But don’t get me started on my mom, she has really worked me to the bone these two months! I even doubt if she’s really my mom, treating me just like a maid.” Now that her mother had recovered, Gu Shuangshuang decided to take a few days off before going back to classes. She needed to recharge.

An Hao pursed her lips into a smile, then asked, ”How’s Captain Tian doing? Has he been alright recently? Are you two still going strong?”

”We’re fine. It’s just that Tian Niu has been wanting to transfer back to the Northern Military Region, but my mom hopes he goes to the Nanji Military Region! The situation has caused another conflict between the two of them.” This was really troubling for Gu Shuangshuang.
