Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1067: Chapter 1068: She is More Precious than My Life

”Mom! You truly raised your son in vain!” Qin Fen said indignantly.

”I think it’s raising you that’s been in vain!” Li Junping bit back angrily at him.

”You hit the nail on the head with that one!” Qin Ru Hai expressed his agreement!

..........................................

Time flew by, and it was already past the fifth day of the Lunar New Year.

Qin Jian and An Hao had already made plans to return home.

Having stayed here for almost the entire holiday, although they hadn’t had their fill, it was time to leave.

Ning Yibin and Zhang Yun were probably home by now, and it was about time their family had a reunion dinner.

On the morning of the sixth day, An Hao packed up all her belongings, and before Qin Jian returned, she told the guard Xiaoliu to come pick them up today.

When An Shuchao learned that his daughter and son-in-law were leaving,

he went early in the morning with An Ping to the greenhouse and picked a lot of fresh vegetables for An Hao to bring back to her in-laws.

”Good girl! We don’t have much else at home, but these vegetables are ready! Take more back home to eat! If there’s excess, share it with the neighbors too!”

”I got it, Dad!” An Hao agreed.

”Once you’re back, don’t forget to give my regards to your in-laws.”

”Don’t worry, Dad!”

Having given all the necessary reminders, An Shubian was done, and the guard Xiaoliu had also arrived.

An Hao and Qin Jian, carrying their things, were ready to leave, with An Shuchao and An Ping following to send them off to the village entrance.

At the village entrance, Qin Jian turned to An Shuchao and said, ”Dad, from now on, I’ll be transferred back to the Northern Military Region! I’ll have more time to be with An Hao and can come back to see you more often! If there’s anything at home, I’ll send a telegram from the city! I will definitely come back.”

”That’s good. As long as you and your wife live well, that’s all that matters to me,” An Shuchao, stepping forward, patted Qin Jian’s shoulder. ”Be patient with your wife; she can be a bit stubborn. Take good care of her.”

”Don’t worry! She’s more precious to me than my own life,” Qin Jian said.

As they were about to get into the car, An Hao also had a few words for An Ping: ”You take good care of Dad at home! And also, you should bring a partner home sooner so that I can meet her next time, too!”

”Alright,” An Ping said with a smile, scratching his head, ”next time you come back, I’ll definitely introduce her to you.”

”It’s a deal!”

”It’s a deal!”

After a lengthy conversation, Qin Jian and An Hao finally boarded the car, which started slowly and headed towards the city.

Having seen off their daughter and son-in-law, An Shuchao and An Ping walked back home. They had not gone far when they bumped into Li Junping, who was hurrying over.

”In-laws! Have they left?”

”They just left! What’s up? Did you need to see them for something?”

”I just ground some millet flour and wanted them to take it back to eat. But those two left without even saying goodbye,” she complained, clearly annoyed.

”That was their mistake. I apologize on their behalf,” An Shuchao said.

”Forget it, forget it!” Li Junping waved her hand dismissively. ”If they’ve left, they’ve left! An Hao is probably mad at me!”

”What? Why would she be mad at you?” An Hao hadn’t mentioned anything about this to him.

”Ah, it’s a long story!” Li Junping sighed. ”Qin Fen hasn’t got a proper job, and he isn’t getting any younger. He should be having kids by now, but he can’t even support himself! I mentioned to An Hao that he could work in your family’s vegetable garden, you know, just to give him some wage! But before I could finish speaking, An Hao refused! She got upset over this.”
