Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1018: Chapter 1018: Attitude Determines Everything

The salesperson said with a forced smile, ”Director, the other woman has already paid, so of course I gave it to the one who paid first.”

An Hao knitted her brows, ”Director, it seems you have a long way to go with this kind of attitude. Don’t even think about doubling your performance next year.”

”Go! Find a way to satisfy the customer.” The director pointed at An Hao and said, ”If she isn’t satisfied today, you might as well be out of a job, right?”

”What? Director! You can’t do this to me!” The salesperson panicked—she wasn’t about to lose her job, but seeing that the director wasn’t joking, she had no choice but to go over to An Hao with apologies and amends, ”I’m so sorry! You were in line first, and I should have served you first. It was my bad attitude. Please forgive me this once as the better person.”

”Alright. I can forgive you. Right now, I want that piece of clothing. If you solve this problem, I’ll leave without another word!” An Hao said.

”How about I exchange it for another one for you? This one isn’t bad either, why don’t you try it? This one’s available too...” the salesperson tried everything she could to please An Hao.

”I want that specific one!” An Hao did not even glance at the other options.

”But it’s gone... out of stock...” the salesperson was desperate.

An Hao remained indifferent.

In the end, the head of the sales department spoke up, ”How about this, we’ll get another batch in! You leave an address, and when the stock arrives, we’ll have someone deliver it personally to your door, okay?”

Only then did An Hao show a satisfied smile, ”Good! Now that’s what I call a director! I’ll leave you my address, you better hurry!”

”Don’t worry! Rest assured!” The director assured her repeatedly.

”See? If you all sold goods like this, would there be anything you couldn’t sell? Remember, attitude is everything!” An Hao left them with these words and turned to leave.

”Amazing! She’s absolutely right! We need to change our attitude! Indeed, we need to change our attitude!” the head of the sales department said excitedly.

When An Hao got home, she gave her father-in-law and mother-in-law their New Year’s gifts in advance, and Ning Yibin and his wife couldn’t stop smiling with joy.

The next day, An Hao was returning to the village. Ning Yibin and Zhang Yun insisted on stuffing a bag full of things for An Hao to take back to her in-laws, including canned lunch meat, honey, malt extract, and more—they insisted she take them.

An Hao couldn’t refuse and accepted them.

Ning Yibin had the security officer, Xiaoliu, take An Hao back to the village. The village roads were rough and uneven, and not suitable for cars, so An Hao and the security officer, Xiaoliu, walked home carrying all the stuff of various sizes.

Along the way, they encountered many people who looked at An Hao’s prosperous homecoming with both envy and desire.

”An Hao, you’re back! Look at all the stuff you’re bringing, must have cost a pretty penny, eh?”

”An Hao, what fresh goodies did you bring to honor your dad?”

”Old An is really lucky to have a good daughter like you! Look at you, bringing home bags and bags of stuff! My child only knows how to take things from her parents’ home to her in-laws’.”

The familiar village, the familiar people, and the familiar scent of the countryside made An Hao feel extra affectionate. Everyone from the neighborhood conversed with her, and she was happy too.

When she reached a crowded spot, she took out several packs of candied fruit to share with everyone, ”Uncles and aunties, I’m rarely home these days. If my dad or An Ping need anything, they’ll have to rely on all of you to give a hand.”

The people who received the gifts couldn’t hide their glee, ”Sure thing! Of course!”
