Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 996: Chapter 996: Come with me to see her!

”I don’t care! I just want to see him! Will you go find him for me, please?”

Luo Gang remained unmoved.

Seeing him indifferent, Cheng Yu slowly walked towards the edge of the rooftop: ”Actually, living is meaningless for me. I might as well jump and end it all.”

”Stop!” Luo Gang roared low, ”I’ll go find him for you! Right now!”

In the military compound of the Ning Family, Northern Military Region.

Qin Jian lay in the red satin quilt, holding his young wife tightly: ”Do you feel better now?”

”Much better.” An Hao snuggled into Qin Jian’s arms, his broad chest warm like a flame, comforting her no matter how scared or difficult things got. As long as she could lean against his chest, she always felt secure, ”I wish I could fall asleep in your arms like this every day.”

”I’ve already applied for a transfer back to the Northern Military Region,” Qin Jian said, kissing An Hao’s forehead.

”For real?” An Hao perked up upon hearing this, ”I’ve been looking forward to this day. Right after our wedding, you went to the Northwest Military Region, and those adorable warriors were all assigned far and wide. Honestly, I miss them.”

”They put in a lot of effort for our marriage,” Qin Jian couldn’t help but smile, ”This time coming back to the Northern Military Region, we’ll be able to see them again. Some have left, but some have been transferred to another battalion.”

”Mm.” An Hao closed her eyes, beginning to dream about the happy times after Qin Jian’s transfer.

”Go to sleep. After the New Year, we will have plenty of time together,” Qin Jian gently caressed An Hao’s graceful back, lulling her to sleep.

Just as he was about to turn over and sleep, he suddenly heard a soft knocking at the window.

Qin Jian hurriedly got out of bed and pulled back the curtains; a man’s face appeared outside the glass, rugged and masculine, a scar across his cheeks adding a fierce edge to his features.

”Luo Gang!” Qin Jian called out his name accurately.

Through the glass, Luo Gang moved his lips, ”Come out. I need to talk to you.”

After speaking, he leaped down from the first floor.

Qin Jian turned to tuck in An Hao’s quilt, then donned his military coat and stepped lightly downstairs.

Outside the gate, a row of dark Chinese parasol trees lamented in the bitter wind, and Luo Gang stood under the largest one.

”You dare to come here,” Qin Jian halted in front of him, ”even bold enough to break into the military compound at night.”

”This place can’t stop me. Getting in is like entering unguarded territory,” Luo Gang boasted arrogantly.

”You’re too cocky!” Qin Jian rotated his wrists, ”Want to see how you get captured by me?”

”I didn’t come to fight with you today,” Luo Gang spoke, ”Come with me! Go see Cheng Yu! She needs you!”

”You’re dreaming! It’s already a favor that I’m not capturing you!”

”I’m begging you!” For the first time in his life, Luo Gang uttered the word ”beg” in front of someone else.

”The sharpshooter of the Iron Army Troops, the lone hero known by all on the battlefield—Luo Gang! You really opened my eyes today. Where did the pride you once had as a soldier go?” Qin Jian stared into his eyes, his stern gaze unable to hide his regret.

Luo Gang was stunned, falling silent for a few seconds before he finally uttered: ”That’s all in the past. That Luo Gang is dead. I’m not Luo Gang anymore!”

”Good excuse,” Qin Jian’s lips curled up in disdain, ”I feel sorry for Commander Cheng! I feel sorry for the former Commander Luo!”
