Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 705: Chapter 705: Cannot Withstand the Provocation of the Blazing Fire

Hearing Tian Ermei say this, Tian Niu felt a bit embarrassed, ”Alright, alright, I’ll just share a room with your sister-in-law then.”

”That’s more like it!”

The accommodations for the night were settled, and after both had washed up, they prepared to climb into the kang to sleep.

The mountain nights were cold, and the kang was unheated; as soon as Gu Shuangshuang slipped under the covers, she was shivering all over.

Luckily, Tian Niu was like a furnace, and the moment he got into bed, Gu Shuangshuang instinctively snuggled up to him.

She not only laid her legs on top of him, but her cold little hands were also rubbing back and forth on his robust chest muscles.

Tian Niu felt his patience was being greatly tested; he was like a pile of kindling, unable to withstand the fierce flames of Gu Shuangshuang’s teasing.

It wasn’t long before he had a reaction.

He raised a hand to cover the majesty between his legs, gritted his teeth, and said to Gu Shuangshuang, ”Shuangshuang, are you warm now? If you’re warm, go back to your bed to sleep.”

Gu Shuangshuang was hugging Tian Niu as comfortably as one would a large furnace. Hearing his words, she raised her eyebrows slightly, ”What? You dislike me?”

”Madam, how could I dare to dislike you? It’s myself I can’t stand. Lying next to you, the temptation is too great, I fear I might lose control in a moment!”

Gu Shuangshuang snorted softly, ”Did I come all this way to freeze with you?”

”Tomorrow, I’ll ask Ermei to add two more quilts for you.”

”That’s a good idea, but just endure it for tonight,” Gu Shuangshuang said, and after speaking, she turned over and fell asleep.

Tian Niu sighed, facing another torturous night!

The next morning, Gu Shuangshuang habitually lingered in bed.

She slept until after nine o’clock, and Ermei brought her meal right to her room.

Feeling embarrassed, Gu Shuangshuang hurriedly got up and, after washing up, ate the bowl of rice before going outside.

It was almost the end-of-year cleaning time, when every household was tidying up; the Niu Family was no exception.

With Tian Niu’s parents getting on in years, the housework was mainly done by the eldest sister and Ermei.

Tian Niu had two older brothers, both of whom were still working away and had not returned.

They were both settled with families of their own, and even if they came back, they would not stay here.

So one room was left empty.

During the work today, a few of them cleaned out that room for Gu Shuangshuang.

The New Year period was lively here, with each family steaming large white buns, making tofu, and steaming rice cakes. Gu Shuangshuang was experiencing such a festive New Year for the first time and was incredibly happy.

She also put on the villagers’ clothes and cheerfully helped out.

After steaming the buns and making the tofu, it was already the 23rd of the twelfth lunar month.

The old lady bought some red paper and, taking advantage of the sunny weather, sat in the corner to cut out paper window decorations.

Gu Shuangshuang also followed suit, learning earnestly, while Tian Niu stood by, watching his little wife’s skillful hands and could not help but beam with joy.

Whenever the old lady was not paying attention, the two of them would sneakily hold hands or steal a kiss on the cheek, and a sweet blissfulness slowly bloomed and fermented in their hearts.

When the villagers heard that Tian Niu had brought back a wife from the city, they all peered curiously into his home.

Seeing everyone’s envy, the old lady was quite pleased that her son was so fortunate and invited people to sit in their house.

Gu Shuangshuang brought out the sunflower seeds, candies, and various snacks she had bought in the city to treat the neighbors.

Everyone praised Tian Niu for his good fortune and commended Gu Shuangshuang for her beauty and domestic skills.

Gu Shuangshuang was very happy living here, becoming quite addicted to the fun.

Tian Niu also wanted to bring her more joyful memories, so he decided to take her up into the mountains tomorrow to pick nuts.
