CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1861: Chapter 1869: Never Let You Suffer

James Carter thought, he should give Jillian Carter more time to slowly digest this reality. Over time, Jillian Carter would realize that the family still cherished her, and Jane Sampson’s return didn’t affect her much. Perhaps then, she wouldn’t be so resistant. But now, in fact, Jillian Carter’s reaction was completely different from what James Carter initially thought.

Mother Carter came mainly to discuss the room arrangements with Jane Sampson, so she just casually mentioned Jillian Carter’s situation in a couple of sentences.

While Jane Sampson still had time, Mother Carter took out a whole bunch of information she brought along for Jane Sampson to slowly pick from. Once she decided on a style, they’d take a photo for her, and she’d personally make a reservation for Jane Sampson. She planned to oversee the decoration of Jane Sampson’s room herself.

Holding a thick stack of home renovation materials in her arms, Jane Sampson couldn’t help but find it amusing, ”Mom, I’m already married and won’t be staying for long when I go back. A little cleanup would do, there’s no need for such a grand renovation from inside out. Besides, you and dad still live in the house, renovating a room would make a mess. How are you supposed to live there?”

It would’ve been fine if Jane Sampson hadn’t mentioned her marriage, but as soon as she did, Mother Carter regrettably sighed, ”My daughter is married, yet, unfortunately, mom couldn’t see you on your wedding day. Don’t worry about daddy and mommy, my daughter shouldn’t have to feel wronged.”

Touched, Jane Sampson hugged Mother Carter, ”Thank you, mom~”

This is family; this is the family she missed in her past life that she had never met before.

As it turns out, being cherished by father and mother, held in the palm of their hands, is so warm and so blissful.

”Silly child, truly a silly child.” With a simple ’thank you, mom’ from Jane Sampson, Mother Carter felt a pang of guilt in her heart.

Her biological daughter truly never blamed her.

Mother Carter stayed with the film crew for a day and only returned after having dinner with Jane Sampson and James Carter once they had finished filming.

Afterward, in Jane Sampson’s daily work, apart from filming, she often discussed with Mother Carter on WhatsApp about the room renovation.

Every little detail, the mother and daughter would discuss everything thoroughly.

For example, whether to use plain-colored curtains or patterned ones?

Or what kind of fabric is best for the curtains?

Or even whether to use floor tiles or wooden flooring?

Should the bed be European-style or Chinese-style, and other similar matters? The mother and daughter always had endless things to talk about every day.

This often made it such that when Jane Sampson finished her tasks, the time originally meant for a video call with James Black often found his WhatsApp call showed she couldn’t answer.

Then James Black tried calling her directly, only to have her quickly hang up.

James Black initially thought Jane Sampson was working overtime these few days, but then he heard from Coco Edwards that Jane Sampson hadn’t been scheduled for night shoots. James Black figured she might have other things to take care of, so he sent her a message to call him when she had time and then sat down with a book to wait.

However, this wait often lasted more than an hour, even two hours.

There was one night when James Black waited until over one o’clock in the early morning and still received no response from Jane Sampson.

It wasn’t until the next morning that his WhatsApp lit up with a new message notification.

When he opened it, it was a message that turned his face dark for the whole day.
