CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1794: Chapter 1802: Asking for Leave Together

After hanging up the phone, James Black really wanted to post on Twitter asking netizens what ”big pig’s trotters” means.

Eventually, he suppressed the thought and went online to look it up.

Seeing such a long list of explanations, James Black’s temple was throbbing.

What is all this nonsense?

Have today’s netizens become so skilled that they can create such novel words?

Four characters can actually have so many meanings?

This year’s Twitter awards are more interesting compared to previous years.

One ID, one award, during the event, you can only vote once, and each award can’t be repeatedly voted for the same person, which nicely ensures the winners won’t be highly repetitive.

And Jane Sampson’s goal is very clear, which is to win the Most Popular Female Actress.

The voting event lasted a full week. In the end, Jane Sampson did not disappoint and won first place for the Most Popular Female Actress.

Her votes far exceeded the second place by over 100,000 votes.

Because Jane Sampson’s popularity was consistently high from the start, no one suspected her of vote rigging or anything like that.

No one doubted that Jane Sampson’s vote count was genuine, all cast by her fans.

This kind of vote doesn’t constitute a major award, so actors more talented than Jane Sampson didn’t pay attention to such a minor event, and no one deliberately focused on it. Therefore, Jane Sampson essentially had no competitors in this event.

Three days after the voting event ended, Jane Sampson received an invitation phone call from the organizer, inviting her to attend the Twitter Night event a week later.

By coincidence, James Carter also received an invitation to this event.

James Carter won first place for the Most Popular Pop Singer.

This was achieved easily even though James Carter only boosted Jane Sampson’s popularity and not his own votes.

Even James Carter himself was quite surprised.

James Carter didn’t care much for these affairs, and he viewed fame and fortune lightly. So, at the start of the voting, although his name was on the list, he didn’t campaign for votes for himself and didn’t think about winning any awards.

Jane Sampson and James Carter received their phone calls one after the other. After hanging up, Jane Sampson looked toward James Carter and asked, ”Mr. Carter, are you going to attend?”

Seeing the anticipation in Jane Sampson’s gaze when she asked him, James Carter knew that Jane Sampson wanted him to go along.

So, James Carter thought for a few seconds, nodded, ”Let’s go, and ask the director for leave together later.”

Jane Sampson’s eyes immediately brightened, nodding repeatedly and agreeing enthusiastically.

Rock Bell had already given the director a heads-up about Jane Sampson going back to Capital Province early in the morning, so when Jane Sampson went to discuss it with the director, he readily agreed.

”Alright, then I’ll give you three days off. After you return, you’ll have to work overtime to make up for the scenes you missed in those three days, okay?” The director was quite accommodating.

”No problem.” Jane Sampson repeatedly nodded and thanked him, ”Thank you, director!”

The director laughed at Jane Sampson’s thanks, ”You’re just like a child.”

After getting the leave approved, Jane Sampson and James Carter spent another week filming with the crew, before catching the 10 p.m. flight back to Capital Province on the night before the event, after wrapping up the day’s shoot.
