CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 992: Chapter 1000 Are You Still Afraid?

”I’ll hold you for a while,” Jane Sampson said pretentiously, feigning restraint.

However, James Black, who was not known for being polite with his young wife, held her for a long time without letting go.

”When I learned you had been hijacked today, I kept regretting that I should have driven you downhill myself.” At that time, his feelings were like a roller coaster.

Knowing that Jane Sampson had been hijacked by Henry Bright, who was armed with a gun, James Black really felt almost insane.

”It’s not your fault,” Jane Sampson quickly added, ”Everyone was supposed to act according to the plan, and you also said that the crossroads was a crucial point. If it weren’t a crucial point, you, James Black, wouldn’t have been stationed there. Plus, you were probably thinking that with so many of us in the crew, under normal circumstances, the criminal would choose to avoid the crowd. You didn’t expect that our cast and crew would be so unlucky to encounter Henry Bright with his gun while coming downhill,”

Jane Sampson’s hand was around James Black’s waist, and while talking, she leaned her face against his chest, ”None of us expected that there would be villains in the crew willing to push me out.”

Jane thought that although Henry Bright was running out of patience at that time, with so many in the crew, if no one had pushed her out, it would have been risky for Henry to grab someone from this group to hold as a hostage.

If we could have delayed a few more minutes, the police would have arrived, and everyone might have had a chance to escape.

But there was just such a sinister villain who directly pushed her out to shield everyone from disaster.

”When you return later, did you ask Coco Edwards if she saw anyone?” James Black asked.

”Coco was originally in front of me, but later when people were pushing and shoving, she was pushed elsewhere. She couldn’t see who was around me. At that time, she wasn’t paying attention to what was happening here,” Jane Sampson shook her head, ”I always feel that with so many people there, it couldn’t really be such a coincidence that no one saw anything, right? Could it be that someone saw but was afraid of offending someone, so they didn’t want to speak up?”

”That’s also possible,” James Black did not dismiss the possibility, after all, the act of pushing someone is significant, enough to knock Jane onto the ground, which meant it wasn’t a small effort.

Even if the crowd hid the action, there should have been some trace left behind.

Exposing such things always offends people, and generally, those capable of such acts are villains. Everyone fears offending villains, and in this circle, many people are already numb to everything. It’s normal for everyone to protect themselves and not get involved in other people’s matters.

”It’s getting late, you have filming tomorrow, better get some rest,” James Black said as he let go of Jane Sampson and led her to the bed.

Jane Sampson hummed in acknowledgment, crawled into the quilt first, and when James Black also lay down, she instinctively moved into his arms, pressing against his chest.

”Are you still very scared?” James Black asked softly.

”Actually, until I knew you fired the gun, I was still a bit scared, but I didn’t want Coco to worry, so I tried my best not to let her notice,” in James Black’s arms, Jane Sampson didn’t want to pretend or endure any longer.

This was her warmest and most relaxing place.
