CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 866: Chapter 874 Old Madam Forest

However, compared to Swan Goose Entertainment’s, Amber Edwards’s funds were but a drop in the bucket.

With Swan Goose backing Jane Sampton, the difference between that and Amber Edwards’s small amount of money was truly like comparing an elephant’s leg to an ant’s leg.

Without Amber Edwards’s funds, James Chip could still find elsewhere to fill the gap, but without Swan Goose’s funds, he absolutely could not find such a large investor in a short time.

Moreover, it was a potential partner for a long-term cooperative relationship.

By mentioning Swan Goose to Amber Edwards, James Chip was doing Amber Edwards’s father a favor, subtly reminding Amber that Jane Sampton also had powerful backing, and it was Swan Goose Entertainment. He wanted Amber to clear her head and not to offend people everywhere in Capital Province.

However, seeing the frantic way Amber Edwards left, James Chip knew she had not taken his advice to heart.

That’s fine.

James Chip thought, after all, she was not his beloved daughter, and even if she did offend someone, it had nothing to do with him. He had given the reminder he needed to give. After getting her answer from James Chip, Jane Sampton stepped out of the audition hall and sent Rock Bell a text message to update him on the situation.

Only after receiving a reply from Rock Bell did Jane Sampton log into WhatsAPP. After thinking for a moment, she sent a message to James Black, who had not long ago abruptly hung up on her.

Searching through the emoticon library for half a day, Jane Sampton directly threw an emoticon at him.

”Thank you, boss!” — James Black’s wife.

After sending the message, Jane Sampton followed Coco Edwards down the stairs.

However, just as the two of them had reached the great hall, unexpectedly, they were stopped by two people.

”Miss Sampton, our old lady would like to see you; she is waiting for you at the cafe at the crossroads.” Two young men in suits, obviously bodyguards, spoke to Jane Sampton quite politely.

”Who is your old lady? She wants to see our little Jane just like that?” Coco Edwards immediately intercepted, ”No, we won’t see her.”

Having said that, she tried to walk off with Jane Sampton.

The two bodyguards were clearly stunned, not expecting such a response.

Seeing that Jane Sampton really was about to leave with the other woman, one of the bodyguards hurriedly followed them and, mustering up the courage, said, ”Our old lady is Mr. Forest’s grandma.”

This finally clarified the identity of the person who wanted to see Jane Sampton.

”Grandma Forest?” Jane Sampton froze for a moment, then cycled through her memories, somewhat vaguely recalling Grandma Forest’s appearance from over ten years ago.

”Coco, go wait for me in the car. I’ll come back after I meet someone,” Jane Sampton said.

When Coco Edwards heard Jane Sampton subconsciously call her ”Grandma Forest,” she instinctively felt that Jane Sampton must know the person, so she nodded her head and agreed.

The cafe that the bodyguard mentioned was indeed not far from there; walking over, it was a matter of two minutes.

Upon entering, Jane Sampton was immediately led upstairs to a private room. Pushing the door open, she saw an elderly figure, unchanged in outline but more aged in appearance than she remembered.

The bodyguards did not follow her in and, once Jane Sampton entered, they closed the door and stood guard by the doorway.

”Sit,” said Old Madam Forest inside, gesturing to the spot opposite her as she picked up her mobile phone from the tabletop, glanced at a photo on it, then compared it with the person who entered, and said in an unfluctuating voice, ”Both the person and the photo are indeed pretty.”

Jane Sampton, completely baffled, took a seat; before she could speak, Old Madam Forest spoke again.

”When did you get to know Kane?” Old Madam Forest asked very directly.
