CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 794: Chapter 802: Just Got a Bit Stronger

”Go out and wash up,” James Black didn’t linger with Jane Sampson over that box. He knew he would find out sooner or later.

Unless she didn’t bring it home.

”Go wash up, go wash up!” Jane Sampson moved forward, grinning foolishly at James Black, ”Let’s go together!”

Then, with surprisingly bold courage, she slipped behind James Black, pushed him out of the cloakroom, and even used her foot to close the cloakroom door.

The more Jane Sampson acted like this, the more curious James Black became about the contents of that box.

The morning reexamination went smoothly. James Black’s constitution had always been excellent, and with Jane Sampson keeping a close eye on him these past few days, his recovery was quite commendable.

Quincy Forest and Alexander Forest saw that there was nothing wrong with James Black the day after his reexamination and went back to Capital Province first. Coco Edwards also went back to Capital Province ahead of time to help Jane Sampson arrange some matters.

As for Jane Sampson and James Black, they waited until the day after James Black had his stitches removed before going back.

After James Black’s right hand regained its freedom, Jane Sampson became much more well-behaved than the two days before.

Whenever she jumped, she made sure to do it when James Black wasn’t looking. And when she darted around, she was extra quick.

When talking back, she also weighed her words against James Black’s right hand a bit more.

After all, she wasn’t going to starve.

She didn’t even dare to speak loudly.

Jane Sampson felt that after James Black confessed to her, nothing had changed at all.

When he was controlling her, it was still all about what she couldn’t do.

When he scolded her, he still just gave her a look that immediately softened her resolve.

What those TV shows depicted—the kind where, because I like you, you get to call all the shots—that concept simply didn’t exist with James Black.

If anything had changed, it was that when she acted coquettishly, he wouldn’t scold her anymore for doing so.

Although pouting was useless, as she would still end up without even a scoop of ice cream, but whenever she pouted, she would receive the same kind of head pat from him as Great General did.

After protesting futilely a couple of times, Jane Sampson stopped bothering to protest.

When the airplane landed, Bright Sampson and his grandparents were already waiting at the doorway.

As soon as Jane Sampson came out, Bright Sampson quickly took the luggage from her hand and teased, ”Sis, how come you seem to have gained weight after a week away?”

”Bright Sampson, are you courting death?” Jane Sampson fumed as she hopped on one foot, ”Can’t you talk properly?”

”You mean I can’t tell the truth anymore?” Seeing that Jane Sampson was honestly about to hit him, Bright Sampson immediately hid behind Granny Sampton and continued, ”Grandpa and Grandma, don’t you think my sister got a bit fatter? And she won’t let people speak the truth.”

”Bright Sampson, stop talking nonsense. Your sister has just gotten a bit more solid,” Granny Sampton raised her hand and swatted the back of Bright Sampson’s head, ”If you keep spouting such nonsense, be careful of grandpa cutting you down to size.”

”...” Upon hearing Granny Sampton’s words, Jane Sampson immediately turned her head to look at James Black, her face filled with puzzlement.

You see, have I really put on weight?

What difference was there between Granny Sampton’s ’more solid’ and Bright Sampson’s ’fatter’?

Jane Sampson inwardly wailed. It would have been better to be told straight up that she had gained weight!

These past few days, in order to nourish James Black, she had cooked a lot of delicious food every day, didn’t want to waste anything, and as her culinary skills were too good, she inadvertently overfed herself.

James Black chuckled softly and shook his head, then hummed an acknowledgment, ”You haven’t gained weight.”

But it was apparent that Jane Sampson looked much healthier.

Bright Sampson, hiding behind Granny Sampton, was utterly baffled. Since when did his brother-in-law know how to sweet-talk like this?
