Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 2223: Chapter 2217: Preparations Before Returning to the Imperial Capital

”Aunt, I understand. I’ve grown up now, and I won’t think the way I did when I was a child. You can rest assured.” Ye Li looked at his aunt. In this family, only he and Ye Zishu were children, and his aunt treated him like her own son. This touched Ye Li, although he also knew what she was thinking. He knew she had spent a lot of effort on his relationship with his father. He didn’t want her to worry about him anymore, so when she brought it up, he thought he would go back and see the old man.

This way, his aunt wouldn’t worry about him all the time, which would make him feel a little better at heart.

”Good boy, it’s been hard on you these years.” Yin Sujin looked at Ye Li. It’s not surprising he couldn’t figure things out; anyone would feel bitter, right? Such a young child without a mother around, and his father couldn’t take care of him personally because he was busy.

”Not hard. I have my aunt, uncle, and sister with me. I’m living well.” Ye Li rarely said such emotional words, but now looking at his aunt Yin Sujin, he just wanted to speak his mind.

”We are also happy to have you with us.” Yin Sujin had only one daughter these past years, so she truly treated Ye Li as her own son.

Seeing him grown up now, her heart was filled with pride, and this child’s heart was full of their family, which moved her even more, feeling that all the years doting on him were worth it.

”Mom, what are you guys talking about? Dad asked you to come down and eat.” Ye Zishu didn’t know what his mother and the others were doing upstairs. Father had already finished cooking and was waiting for them. If they didn’t go down soon, they would end up eating cold food.

”Coming.” Yin Sujin responded to her daughter’s call. For so many years, it was her husband who cooked while she ate, and this was no exception even now. It was just their family; in someone else’s, she’d probably have been dismissed long ago.

”What did Mom tell you? She seemed like she was crying.” Ye Zishu, after her mother left, reached out and pulled Ye Li.

”Reluctant to see you go to the Imperial Capital, probably worried about you. You’ve never left her side alone since you were this big.” Ye Li just glanced at her and didn’t say anything else. It’s normal for this girl to be carefree; the matters between him and his father didn’t need her worrying.

”As if my mom would be worried about me, Ye Li, you must be joking.” Ye Zishu didn’t believe it at all. Her mother was almost sick of her, okay? With a mother like her, she would worry? Saying it, he probably wouldn’t believe it himself.

”Really, Aunt just never said those things to you. She’s truly worried about you. I often see her smiling at your photos.” Because of this, Ye Li wondered if his father did the same thing when he was not at home.

That’s why he thought so much about things. Otherwise, how could he suddenly get close to his father after all these years of estrangement? That would truly be impossible.

”Are you really not lying to me?” Ye Zishu still found it a bit unbelievable because it seemed too surprising, especially regarding her mother.

”Of course it’s true. Did you agree to travel together, or are you each going to take the bus separately and meet up in the Imperial Capital?” Ye Li didn’t know what arrangements she and Qin Jiale made.

”We agreed to go together. Tomorrow morning, we’ll wait at home for Lele and the others to leave first, and then we’ll head to the station.” Ye Zishu and Qin Jiale had set a time. They would meet at the station then.

”Alright, then let’s go down to eat. Let’s not keep Uncle and them waiting too long.” Ye Li ruffled Ye Zishu’s hair, wondering why a tomboy would keep her hair so long?
