Chapter 340: Chapter 186: Surprise! The First Legendary Profession Panel Prompt! (Two-in-One Mega Chapter)_3

Alonso looked at Magis with a gloomy expression and said, “Magis, you know why I am here! How long has it been? Does it take a month to do this? Are you playing me?”

“Today, if you can’t give me a reasonable explanation, I think I will take back all the things I promised before!”

Hesitating upon hearing Alonso’s words, Magis was uncertain.

Alonso’s attitude was clearly more resolute than the last time; could it be that he had also heard about the trouble at the base?

However, Magis thought again and felt that this was unlikely, after all, the base wasn’t responsible for maintaining contact with the nobles of Meister County; he was the one handling that aspect.

But under the circumstances, he must give Alonso an account, otherwise, he feared what the other party might do…

However…

He couldn’t reveal the news that the base had been completely wiped out by a mysterious person; after all, that was a family disgrace, and spreading the news would be too humiliating!

As Magis was indecisive, one of his trusted associates knocked on the door, came in, and whispered a few words to him.

Magis, already frustrated, had no intention of listening at first and was about to send his associate away when his expression suddenly hardened and he immediately turned to ask, “Is the person in the interrogation room?”

“Yes, my lord!”

At that moment, Magis paused to think, then immediately turned with a serious look and said to Alonso, “Baron Lord, please allow me to step away for five minutes. The explanation you want, I will give it to you in five minutes.”

After pondering for a moment, Alonso said, “Fine! I will give you five more minutes.”

Clearly, he too had sensed that Magis must have received some kind of news.

—————–

When Rein arrived at Rachmond Fishing Port Town where Hass was, he found it strange that most of the townsfolk had grim expressions, as if they had encountered some difficulty.

However, since his goal was to visit Hass, Rein stopped an older woman:

“Hello!”

“Good day to you, Knight Lord!” Facing Rein, who was mounted on a tall horse and armed, the older woman was visibly nervous and quickly bowed in greeting.

“I would like to know where Hass Klein’s home is?” Rein asked.

Upon hearing that Rein was looking for Hass’s address, the older woman visibly relaxed a lot and answered, “Captain Hass? He’s injured; he should be resting at home right now. His home is just around the corner to the right, the first house there.”

“Knight Lord, do you need me to take you there?”

“Thank you! No need, I think I can find it,” Rein said with a smile, nodding his head and declining the older woman’s kind offer.

Although Rein had a smile on his face, he was somewhat surprised in his heart.

Hass was injured?

He wondered how serious it was.

Continuing on his black horse, Rein soon arrived at the location the older woman had described.

The house was similar to what Rein had in Flashgold Town, quite nice for the average citizen.

But for someone of the knightly class, it seemed a bit humble.

That was normal, of course, as Hass’s knightly title had probably not been conferred yet.

Rein knocked on the wrought iron gate!

“Thump, thump, thump!”

At that moment, a ruddy-faced child cracked open the door and asked, “Hello, whom are you looking for?”

“Is this the home of Hass Klein? I am his friend,” Rein inquired.

“Yes, are you my brother’s friend? But why have I never seen you before!” The boy eyed Rein suspiciously.

“Hehe, you can tell your brother that Rein has come to visit,” Rein chuckled, not minding the suspicion.

“Alright, please wait a moment,” the boy said as he now took in Rein’s full appearance, noting the tall horse, the weapons, and the calm and friendly tone that commanded respect.

The boy thus used an honorific and immediately turned to run into the house.

Soon, a familiar, tall figure hurried out, his left arm clearly wrapped in white bandages—it was Hass.

Seeing Rein, Hass cheerfully exclaimed, “Rein, you finally came to see me!”

“I was about to come find you in Meister County, but, unfortunately, I got injured these past few days!”

“Hass! It’s been a long time, how did you end up like this?”

“Come inside and we’ll talk!”

Hass quickly opened the door and invited Rein in; the two exchanged pleasantries as they walked inside.
