Prodigal System in the Flourishing City

Chapter 641: Chapter 639: Forging through Desperation [Happy Mid-Autumn Festival]

As the saying goes, where there are people, there are Jianghu, and where there are people, there are conflicts of interest.

Originally, the Blue Brand Awards planned, in the event that Lu Xiaobu’s side didn’t send anyone or just sent some small fry, to give the highest award to ”Bright Sword,” and then distribute the rest.

This way, everyone would save face.

But who knew Lu Xiaobu would suddenly say he was coming, and coming in person at that.

Now that’s a big deal!

Regardless of what was happening at the Blue Brand Awards, Zhi Cheng IT under Lu Group, already the most efficient IT company in the industry, received Lu Xiaobu’s orders and began to work overtime tirelessly.

They quickly set up the rating website.

Under the guidance of Lu Xiaobu, it was named ”Dead End,” signifying the cutting off of the profit routes of bad films, and it launched with great fanfare.

And Liang Lan, who had already been at Zhi Cheng IT that time, had invited a large number of professionals as instructed by Lu Xiaobu to start giving professional evaluations to various films and TV shows.

Of course, as this is a long-term project and not something that can be achieved overnight, the number of evaluations available are not many for the time being.

Currently, the list only includes about a dozen, including ”Bright Sword,” ”A Chinese Odyssey,” ”Youth Never Falls Behind,” and so on, every film and TV show from the past year.

Once the website went online, with the strong promotion from Lu Group, it immediately attracted all the viewers’ attention.

”Have you heard? Lu Xiaobu’s new website has launched! I heard it’s about film and TV show ratings!”

”Heard? I’ve already started registering!”

”How are you so fast? Hey, one ID card can only register one account, this is good! This is to get rid of the paid trolls!”

”Lu Xiaobu is really ruthless! He never holds back!”

”Damn, look at those judges, they’re so awesome, the least known among them are renowned professors from Emperor Electric University, and there’s even international superstars, and famous directors, that lineup is too luxurious!”

”You’re right! Guys, check it out, the ratings for the films and TV shows from the past year are out. ’Bright Sword’ scores the highest, a whopping 9.5 points, no doubt about that. The biggest surprise was that ’Youth Never Falls Behind’ actually got 5.5 points, that’s impressive!”

”What’s so impressive about 5.5 points?”

”Don’t you get it? Read the comments below, there’s praise and criticism. The summary is that it’s a TV show suitable for passing time, which means what? It means Lu Xiaobu is not acting out of personal vendetta, he’s doing the right thing, not using this as a means of retaliation!”

”I see! That’s really great!”

”Yeah, with this website, my future movie watching has a standard! I won’t be disgusted!”

”Awesome! That’s fantastic!”

”...”

The rating site gained unprecedented attention.

There are two reasons for this, one being Lu Xiaobu’s reputation, as well as the recent series of events that have led people to trust him a lot.

The second is the unprecedented Unsealing Book of these past few days.

As mentioned before, this Unsealing Book is to some extent a representation of the film companies submitting to Lu Xiaobu.

Whether genuine submission or not, at least on the surface it appears to be!

Thus, the new Dead End website has received unprecedented attention for a while!

The external audience is incredibly enthusiastic.

But the moguls of the film companies are furious!

”This Lu Xiaobu is too ruthless! Now I see why he forced us to come up with the written Unsealing Book, it was to pave the way for his website!”

”Yeah! I can’t hold back the urge to curse! Lu Xiaobu really doesn’t let go when he has the upper hand, relentlessly pushing further, first making us lose face in public, then using it to launch his website!”

”Should we register accounts to boost the ratings for our shows? His site does have a function for audience ratings!”

”What’s the use? It’s all real-name registration, as soon as we log in, we’ll be automatically verified, and who would care for your self-praising ratings?!”

”Exactly, plus once you register, what does it signify? It means we also acknowledge the existence of his site! Then we’re smeared with mud!”

”What to do then? Just leave it be? Allow Lu Xiaobu to rate? Our interests will suffer great losses!”
