The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 944: Chapter 944: If you can’t beat them, just run; I’m good at escaping

”News has arrived!”

Carson Flores was playing chess with Killian Jaramillo when Molly Greer hurried into the room, her expression quite excited.

Carson Flores looked up, ”The Seven Hells Sect?”

”No!”

Molly Greer answered, ”We’ve asked many people, numerous traders from the north and south, not a single one has heard of the name ’Seven Hells Sect,’ but we’ve traced the origin of that button we found.”

Carson Flores nodded, ”They claim to be the Seven Hells Sect, probably a false identity, so it’s normal that nothing turned up. What about that button?”

Molly Greer responded, ”Three Devil Sect, a sect skilled in alchemy. They don’t have many members, but they are quite powerful. They possess formidable alchemy techniques, attracting many cultivators to seek their services. Their connections are quite complex...”

Killian Jaramillo pondered, ”Three Devil Sect, Seven Hells Sect - both names start with a number and have a similar meaning in the second character. Moreover, the Three Devil Sect is skilled in alchemy. Although the Path of Refinement is different from alchemy, they might theoretically be interrelated...”

Carson Flores stood up, ”Whether it’s them or not, we need to check it out.”

Molly Greer said, ”I’ve inquired further; the Sect Master of the Three Devil Sect is in the Late Phase of Transforming Spirit, not very powerful, but they supposedly have a Supreme Elder in the Hollow Void Realm who has been in seclusion for many years. If we just show up, whether or not we find any evidence, it’ll be troublesome...”

Carson Flores frowned, understanding the implied meaning in Molly Greer’s words.

Approaching them aggressively to demand justice without any evidence wouldn’t make them reconcile easily. If evidence was found, given they dared to strike at Sky Yuan City, they clearly wouldn’t fear us. With a Hollow Void Realm expert on their side, if it really came down to a fight, not to mention alerting them by our advance, who among us could withstand that?

They had killed everyone in Sky Yuan City, including the elders of the Thousand Swords Sect. Walking right into their lair would be like a lamb entering the tiger’s den.

Carson Flores thought for a moment, ”Where is the Mountain Ghost Sect?”

”It’s about seven or eight days’ journey from here.”

Carson Flores nodded, ”The more people we have, the easier it is to alert them. And as you said, they have a Hollow Void Realm expert, making it easy for us to walk into a trap. Plus, if we alert them, they could just move their sect and change identities. Then, it might be nearly impossible to locate them again.”

Molly Greer stared at Carson Flores, ”What do you suggest, Mr. Flores?”

Carson Flores spoke calmly, ”Don’t act yet, I’ll go check things out alone. I’m young and won’t draw much attention. I’ll investigate covertly, and if I confirm they are the culprits, then we’ll act to ensure none of them escape.”

Molly Greer nodded, ”That could work, but Mr. Flores, you alone might face danger if you delve deeper...”

Carson Flores chuckled, ”If I can’t beat them, I’ll run. I’m good at escaping.”

Molly Greer also laughed, ”That’s true. Not even the Crimson Dragon King and the True Dragon could stop you; if you want to run, there’s no way they could catch you.”

Carson Flores declared, ”That’s settled then. I’ll investigate. You arrange someone to liaise, mainly to relay messages since I’ll need to communicate whatever information I uncover.”

Killian Jaramillo volunteered, ”I’ll go.”

Carson Flores nodded, ”Okay!”

Carson Flores was just going to scout for information, so having someone to assist with relaying messages rather than fighting was enough. Killian Jaramillo, being a friend, naturally made working together more comfortable.

After pinpointing the location of the Three Devil Sect on the map, Carson Flores, Killian Jaramillo, and Tobias Singleton set off.

Ten days later, the trio arrived at the Mountain Ghost Sect.

The Three Devil Sect was located atop a majestic peak, a huge barrier enveloped the mountain, making it seem enshrouded in mist, ethereal and elusive.

The entrance to the Three Devil Sect lay in a valley. Carson Flores was surprised to find many people at the entrance of the valley, bustling and lively.

What’s going on?

”I’ll go have a look. You two stay here and wait for my message, Old Lu, if anything happens, take good care of her.”

Tobias Singleton crisply agreed, ”Okay!”
