Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies

Late at night after updating, someone left a comment on my Douyin saying I was scamming for gifts, claiming they sent gifts but didn’t get updates.

I was completely confused, not knowing what was happening.

By then, the comment section had already formed a negative trend with everyone accusing me of deception and tricking people into sending gifts.

I’ve always based my bonus updates on the previous day’s gift values - I don’t need to swear oaths about this, you can all see the screenshots.

Due to privacy reasons, I’ll only share the controversial day when I added six chapters.

Many claim I earned 70,000-80,000 in gifts that day but only updated nine chapters, clearly scamming people. You don’t need to believe my solemn vows - just look at the screenshots yourselves.

There’s also confusion about the reward value system. Some think I earn tens of thousands daily in gifts, but consider this - most people send free gifts. Do you really think Tomato would let me exploit this to earn millions monthly?

Those who don’t understand can check the official explanation - reward value is calculated from both gift frequency and amount, not equivalent to actual gift money.

Seeing all this negativity today really upset me.

This isn’t the first time in recent months I’ve been targeted by coordinated attacks and insults.

I don’t know who I’ve offended that keeps sending people to harass me.

Some readers who don’t understand the situation just join in the abuse without knowing the facts.

Do you think any of Tomato’s top authors are stupider than me?

If this was really such an easy scam, why wouldn’t they be doing it too?

Originally, I never intended to do bonus updates for gifts. It started because some loyal readers kept asking in my livestreams how they could get more chapters.

That’s why I adopted this approach.

My intention was for everyone to send some free small gifts, I’d update more, creating a win-win situation that benefits everyone.

But in reality, I’ve had to significantly increase my daily writing output.

Not to boast, but my current three daily updates already put me among Tomato’s most productive authors.

I earn decent royalties every day.

So why would I push myself to write even more?

Do you really think this earns me more money?

Anyone familiar with Tomato knows steady, sustainable output earns more in the long run.

Otherwise, why do so many authors reduce to just tens of thousands of words monthly after building their audience, often taking breaks?

If everyone thinks I’m scamming or exploiting readers, I can simply cancel this activity.

Writing 6,000 comfortable words daily with time for leisure sounds great, doesn’t it?

Do you think producing nine chapters (nearly 20,000 words) daily is easy?

I’m not saying this to reasonable readers, but to those who immediately attack me, make personal insults, and threaten negative reviews when provoked.

If you genuinely dislike this author or book, keep hating.

But for readers who actually enjoy the story, I hope you’ll be less easily influenced by mob mentality.

I’m not asking everyone to send gifts - silently enjoying the book is enough.

This late-night anger kept me awake, so I wrote these words impulsively.

To reiterate: if you believe this approach exploits free gifts or constitutes fraud, comment below this chapter and I’ll end the ”Updates for Love” reward event.

When everyone’s happy, we won’t need this stress.

That’s all I wanted to say. Throwing in some extra words to meet the count - I just hope you understand the truth and won’t be so easily swayed by mobs anymore.
