The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Capítulo 1399: Chapter 1399: Who Let You Into My Dream

When Little Taotie left the restaurant, a ghost followed behind.

This ghost was the one who had approached Little Taotie, a spirit tied to Chef Wu’s goal for the 90,000 severance pay.

She was a young woman whose appearance was unclear, likely disfigured during her lifetime.

She doesn’t remember much about her past life, only that she lived in this area.

Her home was probably in a place that has already been demolished; she couldn’t find her home, but she remembered that she loved eating the Kung Pao Chicken Noodles from this restaurant, seemingly since she was very young.

She is constantly seeking past memories, drifting back to the restaurant, where the smell of Kung Pao Chicken seems to bring comfort to her deceased spirit.

“Why are you following me?” Little Taotie frowned as she saw the ghost follow her into the nanny van.

She’s not an evil spirit nor a vengeful spirit. She belongs to the kind who’s yet to reach their time of death and is rejected by both the Netherworld and the Reincarnation Palace, possessing a fragmented spiritual body.

The ghost drifted gently beside Little Taotie, gradually approaching her, “I want to follow you, it feels very safe and comforting.”

Little Taotie raised her small fist, “One punch from me, and I’ll scatter your soul to the winds. Are you sure following me will make you feel safe and comfortable?”

The ghost shrank to a small size, like a little sprite circling around her small fist, showing a smile, “I’m not afraid, maybe this is a kind of release.”

She was very tired, unable to find home, unable to recover past memories.

Often, she doesn’t understand why she’s wandering, not wanting to continue, yet unable to find a way to release herself.

Maybe… being scattered would be the release?

Little Taotie was momentarily stunned by the ghost’s confused yet eager gaze; this was the first time she’d encountered such a ghost.

Little Taotie didn’t bother with her any longer and curled up in the motorhome to sleep.

“Why didn’t you hit me?” the ghost clung to her and asked.

Little Taotie covered her ears with her tiny hands, ignoring her.

Since she wasn’t an evil spirit, why hit her!

Hitting her might even make her lose merit!

Little Taotie dozed off and, in her dream, saw the ghost still clinging to her.

She suddenly opened her eyes wide, glaring fiercely at the disfigured ghost, “Who told you to come into my dreams and bother me!”

The ghost was stuck to the car window, watching the scenery quickly pass outside, and answered absentmindedly, “I have nothing to do, apart from entering different people’s dreams, I have no other joys.”

In her wandering years, apart from entering others’ dreams, interacting with them, she had nothing else to do; if not for dreaming to pass the time, she would’ve long become a complete fool out of boredom.

She had seen those who, after drifting for long enough, gradually lost their divine sense, becoming foolish ghosts. She also witnessed those half-devoured by the Ghost King, who managed to escape but ended up confused, sometimes lucid, sometimes not.

She always entered dreams, not just to kill time, but to remain ever-conscious.

She always felt she was waiting for something, not to become foolish. Plus, she wanted to find out the truth about her disfigurement.

“Can you help me? I want to recover my lost memories, find out why I was disfigured, how I died, and discover what unfinished business I have.”

Little Taotie snorted, “You spoiled my dream by coming into it, and you still want me to help you?”
