The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Capítulo 1397: Chapter 1397: Grown-Ups Are Too Hard to Understand

Why give him money?

The boss had considered it; such an ungrateful person shouldn’t be given money!

But after all, they’ve known each other for six years and knew his situation well.

His financial situation wasn’t promising.

The boss knew he always wanted to start his own business but lacked the startup funds.

The reason for this action might be that his dream turned into a nightmare, becoming a root of greed.

Since he is so confident, let him try.

“I thought about not giving him money, but after knowing him for 6 years, and knowing his obsession, I decided to fulfill it, giving him money to try. Whether he succeeds or fails, our old relationship is over.”

Little Taotie puffed her cheeks, “You’re talking like you had a deep relationship with him.”

The boss laughed, “After all, six years as colleagues.”

Little Taotie pouted, “He’s going to make you close your door for good, and you’re still talking about being colleagues.”

Little Taotie thought if it were her, she definitely wouldn’t be so magnanimous.

The more someone you trust betrays you, the more it angers you!

Seeing the little girl puffed up with anger, the boss laughed even more, “I just like doing good for others; consider it a kind of investment.”

“Investment?”

“What if he succeeds in starting his business?”

Little Taotie: “Didn’t you say success or failure had nothing to do with you? Didn’t you say you’d become strangers?”

“That’s what I said, but actual actions might not be the same. I do hope he succeeds and comes back to repay the favor.”

Little Taotie really couldn’t understand these adults; they were too complicated.

Just like Chef Wu, who did a wrong thing, yet left crying in the end, full of guilt and remorse, but still took away 90,000.

And the boss, who said they’d become strangers but still hoped Chef Wu would succeed and come back to repay.

Adults always seem to say one thing and mean another.

They always teach kids not to lie, yet they themselves are master liars.

Little Taotie bit through the candy in his mouth, “I don’t understand you people, and I don’t want to; it’s too hard to understand.”

Seeing he didn’t speak, Little Taotie continued to add, “Even if they just suspect you, without evidence proving you put the maggots, it would still be enough reason not to pay you.”

Chef Wu: “…”

The little one made too much sense, leaving no room for argument.

This was indeed a possibility.

When customers caused trouble over the maggots, the little girl definitely couldn’t handle it; the real boss would have to come forward then.

The boss surely wouldn’t believe no one was playing tricks; after all, the restaurant had been open for so many years, and not to mention maggots, even small flies were impossible to find in dishes. The boss would surely suspect the three in charge—the head chef, chef, and waitress.

Whether those three did it or not, the boss wouldn’t pay severance to them anymore.

The greed-blinded Chef Wu finally calmed down, his mind clearing.

He slumped powerlessly in the chair, as if he was completely drained.

“I did it.”

The voice was very light, but the break room was so quiet it could be heard clearly.

Little Taotie spread his little hands, “See, I didn’t wrong you. The way you shout your innocence is really ugly.”

Lying people are so ugly.

Little Taotie pointed to a surveillance camera in the room, “Everything just now was recorded, and you’ve confessed. I’m going to tell the real boss everything and let him handle you.”

Chef Wu nodded in resignation.

…

The boss, who received the surveillance video, hurried over. He entered the break room, and Little Taotie stepped out, leaving the room to him and Chef Wu.

The boss and Chef Wu sat across from each other, and no one spoke at first.

The boss took something wrapped in old newspaper out of his bag and handed it over.

Chef Wu looked puzzled, “What is it?”
