The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 924: Chapter 924: A Surprise Awaits at Home

The door was knocked, Little Taotie stopped continuing the topic, Feng Qi quickly hid in the Horse-Faced Bell.

”Come in.” Little Taotie called out in a childish voice.

The door opened, and Tao Shen walked in.

Tao Shen placed the fresh flowers he brought into a vase, smiled gently and said, ”I brought you some cakes, eat them if you’re hungry.”

Little Taotie looked at the familiar strawberry cake and asked, ”Did you make it yourself?”

Tao Shen nodded, ”You can make it too.”

Little Taotie chuckled happily, ”I make it better than before now~”

Tao Shen smiled with satisfaction.

Perhaps it was the right decision not to insist on bringing his sister back to the Tao Family.

Now the sister is much more lively and cheerful.

Not like when they first met, wary of him, often lowering her head as if she had a habit of looking down.

Now his sister always has a sweet smile, with little dimples deep, no longer overshadowed.

”Are you doing well in the Special Department, do they let you partake in dangerous missions?”

Little Taotie shook her head, ”Most of the time it’s about learning, reviewing past cases to gain experience.”

”That’s good, you’re still young, can’t be too risky, occasionally gaining insights is fine but you can’t always take risks.”

Little Taotie somewhat disagreed, puffing her cheeks, ”I like adventures, I get to meet many different people and experience many different things. It’s far better than staying in the archive room flipping through files. But Head Grandpa and you think I’m too young and don’t let me take risks.”

Tao Shen unwrapped a peanut candy and stuffed it into his sister’s pouting little mouth, instantly dispelling her upset expression as she happily ate the candy.

Though his sister has changed a lot, she’s still easy to coax, give her some tasty treats and she brightens up.

”I watched the Time-Space Monster Management Bureau, it’s very nice, Little Taotie is really adorable.”

”Hehe, right?” The little girl raised her chin proudly, her expression full of: I’m truly adorable~

Tao Shen couldn’t help but reach out and pinch his sister’s chubby little face.

...

Tao Shen returned to the research lab, saying there was an important research and he couldn’t return for a while.

Since it was confidential, no one pressed on about the details.

Little Taotie was discharged from the hospital, bouncing back like a little girl.

Hua Jinyan picked her up from the hospital, when they entered a cake shop, the little girl saw the big cake in the display window and suddenly seemed dejected and upset, her whole face fell.

”Want some cake?” Hua Jinyan asked.

Little Taotie glanced at him resentfully, pouted, and said nothing.

”Is this... are you mad at me?”

Hua Jinyan wondered, ”I don’t recall offending you.”

Little Taotie pointed at the cake in the window, then pointed at herself, ”I’ve grown bigger, I can’t lie on the cake anymore!”

Hua Jinyan laughed softly, ”Just because of this?”

”You clearly promised me a cake that I could roll around on, but I’ve grown up now and I surely can’t roll on the cake you buy.”

”When did I promise that?”

”You!” Little Taotie stomped her foot and walked away, puffing her cheeks.

Seeing Little Taotie angry and keeping distance from him, Hua Jinyan quickly ran after her, ”There’s a surprise waiting at home.”

Little Taotie looked at him suspiciously, ”A surprise?”

”A discharge surprise.”

”What kind of surprise?”

”If I told you it wouldn’t be fun, go home quickly and you’ll see.”

”Can’t you give a little hint?”

”No way, surprises need to have a sense of mystery.”

”Alright then.” Little Taotie rubbed her little hands, her eyes looking like bright stars in the night sky, filled with anticipation.
