The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 489: Chapter 489: Won’t You Come to Hit Me After Getting Out of Jail?

“No! Don’t jump! Do you have any idea how much you weigh? The ground’s shaking!” the photographer urged frantically.

It turned out the director was so overjoyed that he started bouncing up and down on the spot, happy as a child.

Once the director calmed down, his gaze was intense as he stared at the screen, “Have you noticed that whenever Little Taotie takes a bite of something, King of Film Xu looks like he has a great appetite?”

“Right, right, right, I’ve noticed that too!”

“It seems like it’s because Little Taotie enjoys eating.”

“Actually, due to my excessive late nights these past few days, I’ve lost my appetite. But watching Little Taotie eat helped me regain it.”

Surprised, the director turned to him, “Why didn’t you say so earlier!”

As a chubby person himself, the director never had the trouble of losing his appetite.

Touching his bald head, the photographer gave an awkward laugh, “I thought it was just my imagination. What if it wasn’t? Wouldn’t I be laughed at if I mentioned it?”

The director touched his nose, feeling a bit guilty.

…

Cheng Lu watched King of Film Xu finish the shepherd’s purse tofu soup he hated the most. She covered her mouth in surprise and for some reason, her eyes began to feel a bit teary.

Standing in front of King of Film Xu with hands on hips, Little Taotie spoke fiercely in a baby voice, “Father Xu, from now on, I’ll be in charge of monitoring you. You’re not allowed to waste any food and must finish everything!”

King of Film Xu seemed dazed.

Gu Yixing patted him on the shoulder, “With Little Taotie watching you, you won’t be able to skip meals anymore.”

Gu Yixing looked deep into King of Film Xu’s eyes as if to say, Your eating disorder might be cured.

Coming back to reality, King of Film Xu nodded emphatically at Little Taotie, “Then I’ll leave it to Little Taotie.”

Little Taotie stood tall, but she couldn’t keep it up for long and burst into giggles, sneaking glances at King of Film Xu, “Was I fierce just now?”

Who knew I could be so powerful! Scaring Father Xu into listening to me, hehehe…

Meeting the girl’s sly and lively gaze, King of Film Xu chuckled softly and ruffled her hair, “Little Taotie is cute even when she’s fierce.”

Little Taotie nuzzled his hand with her head, her eyes curving into a smile, “Father Xu, you’re too thin, you need to eat more! I used to be skinny and didn’t have much strength. There were several times when mom almost caught me when she chased after me! Now that I have a bigger appetite and am stronger, if…” She paused and lowered her voice, “If mom tries to hit me again, she definitely won’t be able to catch me!”

Although Little Taotie had almost forgotten, and she couldn’t quite remember what Zhang Cuilian looked like, the shadow in her heart had taken root. Mentioning her, she still subconsciously softened her voice.

King of Film Xu picked up the little girl and hugged her gently, “No one is going to chase you and hit you anymore.”

Resting in his embrace, Little Taotie’s voice held a hint of unease, “I know my mom in the mountains pushed grandpa and did bad things, so she was taken away by the police and locked up.”

Hanging her head down, she murmured, “I didn’t take care of my younger siblings. When she gets out of prison, will she come to hit me?”

“That won’t happen! No one is allowed to hit you!” Gu Yixing squatted down, looking Little Taotie in the eye, “You have nothing to do with her now. She’s not allowed to hit you, or she’ll be locked up again. She’s already been to prison; she wouldn’t want to go back.”

“So, she won’t come to hit me once she gets out?”

Looking into Little Taotie’s clear, bright eyes full of hope, Gu Yixing knew that the troublesome foster parents wouldn’t let her off easy once they were out of prison. Yet he still nodded, promising, “They won’t come looking for you again, and they certainly won’t be able to lay a hand on you!”
