The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 464: Chapter 464: Drawing Task Balls Chapter 464: Chapter 464: Drawing Task Balls Xiao Lingzhi’s grandpa and Tao Mo were acquainted, but they weren’t close before, after all, the Tao Family’s business was so vast, and he wasn’t one to seek connections above his station, usually just nodding acquaintances.

However, as everyone got older and handed over their businesses to the younger generation, there were no longer so many interests to avoid. Instead, they got to know each other better in their old age, and Tao Mo had become one of his tea buddies.

He had seen Tao Mo’s daughter-in-law, a gentle woman. How could she hit the child with a bamboo board without any hesitation–striking anywhere? What if she hurt him?

Tao Mo lowered his voice, “I’ll explain later; you were abroad these past days and didn’t know about the situation at my home.”

Grandpa Lin nodded and didn’t ask any further questions.

…

After the two kids had their fill, they held hands and went downstairs, where the crew was in the hotel lobby.

The entire hotel was booked by the crew, housing all the staff.

The director beckoned to Little Taotie and Xiao Lingzhi, taking out a box for the two kids to draw from.

Little Taotie pulled out a red ball, while Xiao Lingzhi got a green one.

The director opened both balls, revealing slips of paper inside.

Written on the red slip: set up a vegetable stall.

On the green slip: barter for food with self-effort.

“Okay, let’s go with this!”

The director had resigned himself to fate–the carefully crafted content had to be cut from two episodes, so might as well let destiny decide.

…

The crew entered a village; King of Film Xu and Gu Yixing received a task card instructing them to barter for food using their own effort, while Cheng Lu got a task card to use the bartered food to set up a stall and make money.

“Are you kidding me?” Gu Yixing tossed away the task card, unwilling to cooperate.

King of Film Xu frowned, “In an unfamiliar place, penniless, with our luggage confiscated, how are we supposed to barter for food? There’s a limit to making things difficult for us!”

Cheng Lu was glum, “Me, run a stall? I genuinely have no clue how!”

The director spread his hands, “This isn’t a task arranged by the crew!” He raised his hand, pointing upwards, and grinned annoyingly, “This is all destiny’s doing, please go with the flow!”

Gu Yixing glared at him, “Don’t blame everything on fate! I’m not buying your story!”

King of Film Xu nodded, “It’s definitely your deliberate arrangement, aiming to trouble us.”

The director showed them a video of Little Taotie and Xiao Lingzhi drawing the balls, laughing, “I’m not fooling you, it really is destiny!”

Seeing that it was a task drawn by Little Taotie, Gu Yixing fell silent and muttered, “I’ll go have a look around the farmland.”

He thought that if he could meet a fan, maybe he could exchange an autograph for some food.

King of Film Xu sighed and gave the director a thumbs-up, “Indeed, you’re incredibly clever!”

The corner of the director’s mouth twitched, “I’m not balding yet! I still have hair!”

King of Film Xu glanced at the sparse hair on top of his head and shrugged, “Not far off.”

“No personal attacks! What do you mean by that! I’m not going bald, absolutely not!” the director roared helplessly.

King of Film Xu was nonchalant, “Whatever you say, don’t take it so seriously.”

The director: “…”

The cameraman chimed in from the side, “If you take it seriously, you lose.”

Cheng Lu stifled a laugh, holding Little Taotie’s hand in one and Xiao Lingzhi’s in the other, following Gu Yixing, with King of Film Xu leisurely trailing behind them.

The director trembled with rage, “I will grow a full head of thick hair!”

The cameraman: “In broad daylight.”

The director glared at him fiercely.

The cameraman, not scared at all, chuckled, “Don’t daydream.”
