The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 377: Chapter 377: Going to Xiao Kai’s House to Pick Tangerines Chapter 377: Chapter 377: Going to Xiao Kai’s House to Pick Tangerines Gu Yixing had an image in his mind: a little girl, small and thin, climbed a tree, picked a fruit, her eyes sparkling with anticipation; but when she tasted it, her face scrunched up in an instant, overwhelmed by the sourness.

After coming down from the mountain and standing on flat ground to look up at the peaks, they would see that, except for the two peaks reserved for their shooting, the rest were crowded with people.

The orange pickers were men; the men plucked the oranges and then sent them all to the village entrance where many cardboard boxes awaited. Women there waited for the oranges to arrive so they could pack them into boxes.

Soon, a line of vehicles bearing the courier company’s logo would pass by to pick up the shipments.

Everything was organized and orderly.

Little Taotie saw a little boy among the crowd packing boxes and ran over to him.

Xiao Kai also saw Little Taotie, stopped his work, and waved at her vigorously.

Little Taotie ran up to him and asked, “Do you need my help?”

Xiao Kai shook his head, “Actually, they don’t even need me.”

“Thanks for your help, I’ll take you to my house to eat oranges!”

Little Taotie nodded her head and followed Xiao Kai.

When Gu Yixing turned around after completing the task, Little Taotie was gone!

After asking several people, he learned that Little Taotie had gone home with a little boy.

Gu Yixing held his forehead, “Was she just taken away like that?”

Following the direction indicated by the villagers, Gu Yixing went searching for her.

Little Taotie arrived at Xiao Kai’s house and saw the orange tree that his grandfather had planted on the day of his birth, laden with full, ripe fruits.

Xiao Kai brought a pole to knock down the oranges, but Little Taotie stopped him, “It will damage them! I’ll pick them!”

Little Taotie easily climbed up the tree, “Put that bamboo basket down there!”

“Okay!” Xiao Kai hurriedly fetched the bamboo basket.

Little Taotie picked oranges effortlessly, each one landing accurately in the basket.

Xiao Kai clapped and cheered for her from below the tree.

In no time, the bamboo basket was full. Little Taotie jumped down, patted her little hands, and her face beamed with the joy of her harvest.

“Can I take all these away?”

“Of course, you can take as many as you want!”

Little Taotie hoisted the basket onto her back, “Then I am heading back!”

“Should I help you carry it for a bit?”

“No need! I am strong!”

Xiao Kai watched her skillfully carry the load with steady steps and was highly impressed.

“Xiao Kai, how old are you?”

“I am five years old!”

Little Taotie boasted proudly: “I am six! I am almost seven! You have to call me sister!”

Xiao Kai, not quite convinced, stood as tall as he could, “We are about the same height!”

“It’s about age, not height! Anyway, you are younger than me, and since I helped you, you are my little brother!”

Xiao Kai muttered reluctantly: “Considering you helped me, I’ll call you sister.”

“Hurry up and say it!”

“Alright, … Sister!”

“Hehe, that’s a good boy!”

Gu Yixing had rushed over with a worried heart, but now, seeing this scene, he couldn’t help but chuckle softly.

Hearing the noise, Little Taotie and Xiao Kai both looked over.

Gu Yixing, holding back laughter, said, “You can pretend I’m not here, continue.”

Little Taotie, with the heavy basket on her back, came over to him, “Brother Xingxing, look at my harvest!”

The corner of Gu Yixing’s mouth twitched; he had just managed to hand over a basket, and now another one had come?

He reached out to take the basket from the little girl and carried it himself, “These oranges look very brightly colored, where are they from?”

Little Taotie pointed to an orange tree, her voice childish and sweet, “Look! It’s that tree. Its fruits are brighter than the others, definitely super sweet! My grandpa said that the brightly colored fruits have bathed in plenty of sunlight, and the sunlight has painted them with the brightest colors!”
