Chapter 158: Chapter 115: A Bit Unusual; Chapter 116: Renowned Far and Wide (End of Fourth Update)

Shana nodded slightly, ”Yeah, this is ’the top’ product, and there are maintenance personnel in Taikoo. It’s so hard to serve...”

In her words, only certain powerful entities in Taikoo originally owned such luxurious equipment.

As a result, Gold Industry Center wanted to create a ”luxurious” image, and only managed to install a set through some personal connections.

Because they were desperate to buy it, the attitude of the after-sales service was easily imaginable.

To invite the maintenance personnel from Taikoo, just the travel expense was five hundred.

And not to mention Gold Industry had to cover their meals and accommodation, they even had to pay two hundred per day for labor costs.

Too expensive? Well, too bad, you can find whoever you want to fix it, as these folks don’t care about a little extra money.

This is why only top-notch luxury items can make ordinary millionaires hesitant to even think about them.

As for the thirty-one issues Qu Jianlei identified, the manufacturer’s people would take at least five days to find them all.

This means travel costs plus labor would be no less than fifteen hundred, plus covering five days of meals and accommodation.

This is just the cost of inspection; as for repair costs? That’s another issue entirely.

Because inspection and repair costs are calculated separately, Jin Ye considered hiring another Maintenance Master for the inspection.

Qu Jianlei’s travel cost was only two hundred, and he charged just twenty silver coins for each identified problem, making it incredibly cheap.

The total cost for his inspection this time was eight hundred and twenty silver coins.

Don’t just look at how this amount reached more than half of the manufacturer’s maintenance staff charges; the key was that he discovered more problems, right?

And when the repairman initially wanted to treat him to lunch, Qu Jianlei refused without hesitation—certain rooms could only be inspected at that time.

The work attitude was different, and the speed was faster. Who wouldn’t love such service?

The repairman spent over an hour dismantling the problematic part and then another half an hour doing an inspection.

Sure enough, there was indeed an issue; it was undeniable.

Shana expressed her gratitude to Bentley and Qu Jianlei, promising quick payment arrangements.

After the two of them left, she looked at the repairman, ”Thomas, how was this person’s skill?”

”Surely skilled, but a bit eccentric,” Thomas thought of the masked man’s inspection style at noon.

Just tapping around with a stick, he could determine if there was a problem?

If he had heard about such a thing before, he surely wouldn’t have believed it, but this time... it’s hard to say.

People without some skills wouldn’t dare take on this kind of job!

Then, he thought of another issue, ”Some parts just have potential risks and can still be used for now...”

”They can still be used?” Shana was surprised and then thoughtfully asked, ”How long can they be used?”

”It’s hard to say,” Thomas answered cautiously, though he was usually casual, he wouldn’t speak rashly about professional matters.

Recalling the two sentences he vaguely heard earlier, he tentatively spoke, ”Could it be because... they charge based on the number of problems found?”

A faint displeasure crossed Shana’s eyes, knowing it was someone she brought in, yet he spoke like that?

But finally, she asked aloud, ”Can those people... detect hidden issues?”

”They could find them, but they wouldn’t,” Thomas boldly stated, ”Each trip earns them more money.”

”What do you know!” Shana sneered, ”Don’t they live comfortably enough in Taikoo?”

It’s not her guess, but rather because those maintenance personnel are used to earning big money; the disdain whenever they visit is genuine.

In the end, Houjing just can’t compare to Taikoo’s prosperity, and in the mouths of people from Central City, Taikoo is just a rural area.

So, it’s not that these people want to earn more, but that it’s tough for them to detect hidden issues.

Understanding this, she smiled, ”Find a hidden issue to check, it’s quickly time to settle the bill.”

Thomas was stunned and gaped, ”Is it really time to settle the bill already?”

Meanwhile, sitting on the motorcycle’s backseat, Qu Jianlei shouted, ”Didn’t they pay in advance?”

He himself didn’t like credit, and he was very sure Bentley preferred upfront payments.

”For the first case, just bear with it,” Bentley replied moodily.
