Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 1069: Chapter 41: The Bliss of Death. [End of this volume]

Mosquito’s funeral was quite grand, after all, he had been the only Starry Sky Level Expert in the fleet other than Jia Yan. Because of Kama’s relationship, a great many members of the fleet attended the ceremony.

A miniaturized version of Souwu, created by technology, was launched into the vast universe to replace his true body, and many of the fleet’s senior officers saluted it.

The cannons for the funeral salute were fired continuously, blooming in the starry sky.

The scene was very spectacular, but among so many attendees, there was one conspicuous absence—a presence who should not have been missing—Jia Yan, the highest-ranking officer of the Giant Mosquito Fleet!

Jia Yan indeed did not attend the ceremony because he felt it was not suitable for him to participate, so he used a rather poor excuse to avoid it.

As the cannons burst in the universe’s starry sky, the fleet moved slowly forward. Within the Adisa, a super giant warship whose body far exceeded all other ships in the fleet, Jia Yan gazed indifferently at the view outside.

In his enormous compound eyes, a light flickered, its shine uncertain, and his thoughts on the current spectacle remained unknown.

”This guy was quite lucky,” Senior Light and Shadow, who suddenly appeared beside Jia Yan, started the conversation with this comment.

”Hm? Souwu was considered lucky?” Jia Yan looked at him, somewhat puzzled.

Light and Shadow, having captured Jia Yan’s attention, turned back to him and sighed softly, ”It’s true, I said he was lucky. Because even after death, so many people remember him and come to see him off. In the entire universe, there aren’t many strong ones who receive such treatment.”

After hearing this, Jia Yan wanted to say something but didn’t quite know what to say at the moment.

Senior Light and Shadow, however, seemed to indulge in even deeper reflection: ”Actually, sometimes the feeling of being alive is not as good as being dead. Take my master, for example; at the peak of his strength, he nearly dominated countless starfields, yet his name grew ever more forgotten. In the pursuit of the path of the Strong Ones, a strong existence’s presence becomes ever weaker, and in the end, he died on that Giant Star without anyone knowing, without anyone to see him off. He died alone... In my opinion, not even the death of your subordinate is as pleasing as his.”

Jia Yan fell silent.

At that moment, he felt an empathic connection. He wondered if he were to die alone in this strange starfield, would his end be like that of the Senior? His family on Earth would have no idea he died, and he would face death in solitude...

No, perhaps even the Senior might have had it better.

Jia Yan and the Light Shadow Monster stood in silence together, looking toward the core of the Giant Mosquito Fleet nearby, where cannons continuously flared.

”Indeed, perhaps Souwu really was fortunate,” Jia Yan finally spoke after a long silence.

The Light Shadow Monster did not respond, and they lapsed back into silence.

...

”The dangers of the Chaos Starfield pose no problem for our fleet anymore, but its mysteries no longer hold any significant benefit for us. Given that we’ve already gathered a satisfactory haul of resources, which we can’t load any more of, I suggest we leave this place soon and head to the Northern Star Domain, to maximize our gains and turn them into benefits we need,” a pleasant and melodious female voice resonated across a massive square area.

This was a meeting hall, a place as long as two hundred meters and about fifty meters wide—an extremely rare open space within a battleship.

But this immense space was still filled to the brim, not for any reason other than the terrifying Giant Mosquito occupying the entire central area, taking up all the space.

No matter how vast the space might seem to other beings, it never felt quite big enough to Big Mosquito, who outside of planets had difficulty finding comfortably large spaces.

However, he had long been accustomed to this, and currently he was just listening to the senior officers of the fleet engaged in discussion around him.

The speaker was Kama, one of the high-ranking officers advocating for an immediate departure from the Chaos Starfield.

Of course, there were naturally those who opposed her, and the one with the most authority here was Mo Ke.
