[Asking for subscription]_1 Perhaps it was because the red light dispersed, or the metal monster was trying to conserve energy, the intensity of the red light attack this time was not as powerful as the previous one that devastated the Capital of the Star-Spangled Banner Country, Washington.

The city in the front line of the attack was Huaxia’s last massive metropolis, which in this crisis, time and again stole the world’s attention, Shanghai City!

This city, despite many trials and tribulations, had not only failed to decrease its population but showed signs of a further increase!

Yet, on this fateful day, the red light ultimately tore through the sky, hitting a corner of the city!

Despite not being as potent as in the Washington attack, the red-light bombardment was still brutally intense!

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!

— —

A torturous explosion took place, revealing the sharp claws of superweapons that made even human nuclear bombs seem insignificant.

This day was later referred to by future humans as the ‘World Suffering Day,’ the day that took the lives of more than five million people!

The little progress Earth’s people had made in their counterattack got abruptly halted.

The actions of the metal monster were as systematic as before.

Whenever the morale of humans peaked, it deployed its lethal red light, causing havoc in the human-dominated areas.

In front of weapons that far surpassed human capabilities, the beleaguered remains of humanity trembled ceaselessly.

Even though Shanghai City wasn’t completely destroyed that day and the devastation affected only a small corner, the ‘Anti-Metal Monster Alliance,’ hastily set up in the wake of these events, stood no chance of success.

The formerly vibrant Shanghai City now felt like a deflated balloon.

Countless people, who had just gained residency, started to flee…

Perhaps the war was controlled by the metal monsters from the beginning, and humans were merely their playthings.

The war continued.

However, desolation and despair steadily spread.

Far away on Neptune, the Big Mosquito had no idea about all the events taking place on Earth.

As the Earth was going through all this, it was still in the midst of a mutation process that had been going on for quite some time…

From the establishment of the so-called Anti-Metal Monster Alliance to its superficial existence for some time, Jia Yan was in the middle of his mutations.

Perhaps the advantage of mutating in space was that he no longer had too many urgent concerns.

Even though he was worried about his loved ones on Earth, he was stuck in space with no way of returning home.

Hence, all of his anxiety was pointless.

So, now, he let go of his thoughts and allowed himself to be enveloped by the mutation process.

Time ticked on.

In the vast and profound universe, a gas planet ran its orbit solitarily against a pitch-dark backdrop.

The world around it was entirely plunged in darkness, barring the sparse starry matter whirling around this gas planet.

For such matter in space, time is not measured in years.

They could orbit around for tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of years!

Neptune, the largest planet in this area, was the undisputed ruler here.

Humans might say that the largest planet in the solar system is Jupiter.

But here, an unimaginable distance far away from Jupiter and even the Sun, everything was influenced by Neptune’s gravitational pull.

Here, Neptune was the central body around which numerous celestial bodies orbited, instead of the sun.

Near Neptune, in its faint ring of planets, there was a rather conspicuous entity, silently in orbit.

Compared to other celestial objects, its orbit was strange due to a massive explosion it experienced earlier, causing a shift in its trajectory.

If there were no unexpected factors disrupting its current orbit, this object could gradually be gravitated and swallowed by Neptune in a few years’ time.

But for now, as it had not fallen yet, it served as a decent sanctuary for life!

There, within this half-destroyed entity, an odd object resembling a frozen mass of metal, moved slightly.

It seemed to be alive, but no signs of life could be detected, no matter how closely one observed.

This was a giant mass ten meters in length.

Lying on the ground, it resembled a small hill!

It was massive, and its solidified body had consumed a considerable chunk of the durable metal on the ground.
