My Apocalypse System Arrives 10 Years Early

Chapter 490: Chapter 324: Extreme Speed of Mach 20, Giant Power of 350,000 Jin, Not Far From the First Cosmic Velocity

The setting sun over the East African Grassland gilded Li Xiang’s Giant Whale Saint Armor, making his powerful frame look like a descending Celestial God.

In fact, some of the Celestial Gods from myths and legends were no match for him.

In a backward place like Africa, Li Xiang didn’t even need to move under the cover of darkness. He could rampage freely in broad daylight.

His Extreme Speed of Mach 15 was equivalent to 5.1 kilometers per second, or 306 kilometers per minute. If he kept it up for fifty minutes, he could cover fifteen thousand kilometers. In other words, with a single, ultimate burst, he could sprint fifteen thousand kilometers.

Getting here from India, a distance of three to four thousand kilometers, took him only about ten minutes. During rush hour in a big city, many people spend ten minutes or more just waiting for their ride to arrive.

In the time it took an ordinary person to wait for a car, Li Xiang crossed continents.

Of course, once he reached the African Continent, he had to slow down to scout for targets.

The basic Mutant Creature Identification Function he’d previously bought for one hundred Achievement Points only covered a radius of about ten meters. With his power greatly increased, a ten-meter range now felt practically useless. So, he spent another ten thousand points to redeem a super-enhanced version of the Mutant Creature Identification Function. This new version could cover a three-thousand-meter radius and lock onto individual targets.

Previously, it would only alert him to potential Mutated Creatures within ten meters. If there was a whole litter or a pack, it was impossible to tell them apart; he would have to pull each one out of the ten-meter radius to identify it individually. Now, however, if any potential Mutated Creatures were within a three-thousand-meter range, a map would appear in his mind, marking the targets as points of light.

It was a bit like a life-form detector, only far more advanced, specifically designed to detect Mutated Creatures or those with the potential to mutate.

A shrill cry suddenly erupted from the dust kicked up by a distant herd of wildebeest. Li Xiang leaped high into the air to look down, Spiritual Power flowing through his eyes, making them glow. He saw three sub-adult male lions surrounded by more than forty spotted hyenas.

These drab, grayish-yellow beasts arched their comical backs, their carrion-caked fangs tearing at the lions’ hind legs.

The lions had been divided and conquered; the hyena pack split into three groups, each besieging one of the lions.

The lions roared again and again, but they couldn’t fend off the pack’s relentless attacks.

What’s more, the hyenas were incredibly cunning. A few would feign a frontal assault, while others harassed from the flanks. Then, another group would take turns attacking the lions’ weak spots (namely, the rears that hyenas so famously favor).

’Disgusting.’ Li Xiang frowned. Honestly, if there were any animals he despised, hyenas would certainly be among them—and ranked very high on that list.

’You’re a proper predator,’ he thought, ’second only to lions on the African savanna, the so-called ”Second-in-Command of Africa.” Why can’t you fight head-on instead of insisting on ripping out your prey’s anus?’

To Li Xiang’s surprise, one of the spotted hyenas was a Hyena Queen. The system identified her as a potential Tier Sixteen Mutated Creature.

Li Xiang decided not to hold back.

His figure blurred, and in mere tenths of a second, he arrived at the scene of the struggle. With a flick of his finger, a sharp, frigid beam of energy shot out. It was Cold Ice Sword Qi.

PFFT!

A hole instantly appeared in the head of the Hyena Queen, which had been in the middle of its signature attack. The Cold Ice Sword Qi had pierced straight through. But because of the astonishingly cold energy it contained, the wound was instantly flash-frozen, preventing any blood from spraying out.

As his Realm advanced, the power of his Cold Ice Sword Qi was naturally far greater than before. Li Xiang had also upgraded this Superpower, transforming it into a Sword Map. He could fire it in single shots or in volleys, and its current ”Magazine Capacity” was about three thousand shots.
