My Apocalypse System Arrives 10 Years Early

The gourds and persimmons in the backyard had ripened. Li Xiang picked all the usable gourds, planning to make them into wine flasks and ladles. He peeled the persimmons to make them into dried persimmon cakes.

Yao Yao, Zhao Xueqing, and Lei Xiaohui all came over to help. The three women made for a lively, chattering group, and the atmosphere was bustling with excitement.

”Brother Xiang, let me try!” Yao Yao wanted to make a wine gourd with her own hands, so Li Xiang taught her the key points. For instance, when selecting a gourd, one should choose a highly mature one with hard, unbroken skin and a rounded bottom. It was also best to pick one that still had its ”dragon head”—the stem and the part it was attached to.

He also explained what tools to use for hollowing out the seeds and the best techniques for getting it perfectly clean inside.

”I’m good at this, Brother! Watch me.” Yao Yao giggled, then tapped her chest. A thumb-sized Little Yaoyao immediately hopped out from it.

Although she could now create a Clone about ten centimeters tall, she could, of course, also make smaller ones. She could control its size to be around two or three centimeters, or even as small as one centimeter.

”I’ll have Little Yaoyao go in and get the seeds out. I guarantee you, Brother, she’ll get it perfectly clean for you!” As Yao Yao spoke, the tiny, Thumbelina-like Little Yaoyao slipped through the gourd’s small opening and got to work, meticulously cleaning out the inside.

Li Xiang gave her a thumbs-up. ”Impressive!”

It wasn’t just impressive; Yao Yao was also quick-witted and adaptable, knowing how to apply her abilities in creative ways. Her Clone might be small, but it was perfectly suited for this task.

Zhao Xueqing and Lei Xiaohui’s eyes widened. ’It can be used like that?’ they thought.

The two of them didn’t have a little helper like that, but they were still very diligent students. Zhao Xueqing materialized a vine and snaked it into the gourd’s opening, swirling it around to clean out the inside. It worked, but it took her longer than Yao Yao.

Only Lei Xiaohui’s Superpower was unsuited for this particular task, but she and Zhao Xueqing were close, so Zhao Xueqing naturally helped her out.

In the end, each of the three women finished making a wine gourd. The crafty Yao Yao secretly used a small knife to carve her name onto the mouth of her gourd. She thought with glee, ’This way, whenever Brother Xiang takes a drink, he’ll be kissing my name. Every time he drinks, he’ll think of me.’

Then she got up and pressed the wine gourd into Li Xiang’s arms, her fingertips subtly brushing against his wrist as if by chance. However, a quick glance revealed that Zhao Xueqing and Lei Xiaohui had also secretly carved their own names onto their gourds.
