My Apocalypse System Arrives 10 Years Early

When Luo Feifei and her mother put on hard hats and safety boots and followed Li Xiang onto the construction site, the site itself went into an uproar.

”What? A huge superstar is here for an inspection? And it’s the famous Little Celestial Immortal? Brother Xiang is the man!”

All the workers who could stop what they were doing did so, gathering to watch and forming a welcome line. The construction site manager personally led the reception, while those who couldn’t stop their work could only look on with envy.

When the workers heard Li Xiang announce that the Little Celestial Immortal, Luo Feifei, was about to invest and become the second-largest shareholder, the site erupted with even more excitement.

”We’re working for the Little Celestial Immortal? Oh my god, I feel so blessed!”

”I never would have thought a project in the middle of nowhere like this would get a visit from a Celestial Immortal—and she’s investing! I feel like I’m dreaming today!”

It had to be said, with Luo Feifei’s visit, the exhausted workers were suddenly pumped full of adrenaline, all of them completely re-energized.

”That girl is so beautiful,” one worker sighed. ”If I could have a girlfriend that beautiful even in my dreams, I could die happy.”

The person next to him cursed, ”Look at you, so pathetic. You can’t even dream big? I’m different. When I dream, I dream of ten of them!”

The construction site was, of course, a mess. The paths were uneven, piles of dirt were scattered everywhere, and sometimes they had to climb over small mounds of earth. Luckily, it hadn’t rained.

Neither Luo Feifei nor her mother was wearing high heels; they both had on sneakers.

Luo Feifei inspected everything very carefully, asking Li Xiang questions from time to time. He explained what each area was for and outlined future development plans. He also formally introduced Yao Yao and Zhao Xueqing as the managers of the National Style Tavern and the National Tea House, respectively.

The two women felt honored.

Luo Feifei expressed her confidence in them and offered her support.

They walked from the front of the site all the way to the back, where they saw the construction area for the mountainside Shelter.

”Brother Xiang, is that the mountainside Shelter attraction up ahead? Can we go inside now?”

”Of course, but we can’t go too deep, because they’re still excavating inside. The last time I was here, it was about halfway done. I estimate it’s probably three-quarters of the way now.”

”Then let’s go in and see,” Luo Feifei said.

”Huh?” Everyone was surprised. It was just a cave, with no renovations done. What was there to see?

Luo Feifei’s mother, in particular, was not happy about it and didn’t want to indulge her daughter’s whims any further.

Luo Feifei said, ”Why don’t you wait for me outside, Mom? Everyone can wait out here. Just Brother Xiang and I will go in for a look.”

Yao Yao said, ”If you’re going, I want to go see it too.”

Zhao Xueqing and Lei Xiaohui also nodded repeatedly. ’If Luo Feifei can go in, we can’t look like we’re falling behind,’ they thought. ’Otherwise, Li Xiang might think we can’t handle a little hardship, and that would be bad.’

So, led by the construction manager and a few technicians, Li Xiang, Luo Feifei, Yao Yao, Zhao Xueqing, Lei Xiaohui, and two bodyguards entered the cave.

Li Xiang’s grandmother, naturally, didn’t come along. The construction site was far away and difficult to walk through. The old woman was at home, chatting with some villagers and showing off her new silk scarf and bracelet, telling them they were a very expensive gift from the big star.

Luo Feifei’s mother and the other two bodyguards remained outside the cave to wait. The rest of the bodyguards were stationed at the main entrance of the construction site, helping security maintain order and prevent anyone from forcing their way in.

”This is pretty nice, Brother Xiang. Can we turn off these lights?” Luo Feifei asked, pointing to the lights on the cave ceiling.

The construction site manager replied, ”We can, but we have regulations that the lighting must meet a certain brightness and lumen level. Turning them off could create some safety hazards.”

Luo Feifei looked around and explained, ”It won’t be for long, just a minute or two. I want to see what the visual effect is like in here with the lights off.”

Everyone was very curious, wondering what she was up to.
