Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Though the Minister of Internal Affairs is ranked last among the three ministers, he is nonetheless one of the most powerful figures in the country, and more importantly, a strong contender for the Prime Minister.

He previously worried about finding a viable Prime Ministerial contender to support after forming forces, but the candidate appeared unexpectedly fast—an old acquaintance at that.

”Now it seems I must have a chat with him.”

Rayventon saw Wu Chang’s thoughts and asked, ”Do you want Randy to join the Secret Magic Knight Order as your political ally?”

Wu Chang didn’t hide it, saying, ”Randy’s ancestors founded the Secret Magic Knight Order; joining would be like coming home naturally.”

Rayventon said, ”We join the Secret Magic Knight Order to revive ancestral glory, but Randy doesn’t need that.”

”The Queen and Julie trust him greatly, and his power is monstrous; if he wishes, proposing to rebuild the Secret Magic Knight Order with the Queen wouldn’t even be necessary for you.”

”He rejected the Secret Magic Knight Order, choosing to become the Minister of Internal Affairs; what can you offer him, enough to change his mind and rejoin the Secret Magic Knight Order?”

Wu Chang frowned, pondering for a moment, then reached for Rayventon’s notebook in his hand.

Rayventon pulled the notebook back and asked, ”What are you doing?”

Wu Chang said, ”I remember you investigated him; I want to see if there’s any dirt on him I can use when we meet.”

Rayventon rolled his eyes, almost laughed from anger, and tucked the notebook into his back waist, saying:

”You think he’s as easily threatened as I am?”

”Randy is called Iron Face Minister, known as the most upright and tough Minister of Internal Affairs in nearly a century. Coercion and inducement don’t work on him.”

”However, if you want him to join, there’s an opportunity now.”

Wu Chang asked, ”What opportunity?”

Rayventon got up, gestured for Wu Chang to follow him, and led him to his workspace, pulling open the curtain that covered the wall.

Once the curtain was pulled back, Wu Chang saw that an entire wall was filled with photographs or clippings, pinned to the wall with ribbon-tied nails.

Events linked to each other by ribbons, threads weaving back and forth, forming a large web, at the center of the net, at the intersection of all ribbons, sat a photograph.

A photo of Prime Minister Ron.

Rayventon said, ”The Prime Minister assassination case!”
