Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 490: Chapter 248: Divinity Within Humanity

The moment the two mists combined, a new divinity began to form in the air.

Contrary to the Child of Sin, when people looked at the Child of Sin’s body, it was as if they were seeing the ugliness hidden within their hearts, and the deepest malice of the world. Looking more would make them feel mentally polluted.

The divinity in the white light was different. When people saw the white light, it was as if they saw all the precious qualities of humanity: courage, justice, mercy, sincerity...

Looking at it a few more times, one could feel a warmth from the heart, and a thrilling power emerged from the depths of the heart.

Although this divinity had not yet condensed, the power contained within it was already a notch stronger than that of the Child of Sin.

”Don’t give him a chance!” Mercury took out the Double-headed Snake Staff and used his skills to attack the air.

Perun also sensed something was wrong, piloting the Aries Chariot and charging recklessly in the air, while gathering thunder to shatter the platinum mist.

No matter how the two attacked, the platinum mist, as if unaffected, still steadily condensed.

It only took a dozen seconds for a white humanoid phantom to appear in the air, and then the white phantom plummeted down, merging with the dead Child of Sin on the ground.

At this moment, the air of the entire Wildor City seemed to come to a halt, even Perun and others held their breath, staring at the merged black and white figure.

Inside the 100th floor of the Hymn Building, Wu Chang swallowed hard. In his eyes, all the people in Wildor City, at this moment, had black and white extending from their bodies, representing virtue and sin, injecting into the newly born black and white figure on the ground.

A memory of Sean emerged in his mind, from long ago, when Schultz was discussing human nature with him.

Schultz mentioned that in various world cultures, some believe that people are born with original sin, and human nature is inherently evil; others believe that people are born inherently good, like a blank slate, only gradually developing sin due to later pollution.

Babies are when the gap between people is the smallest. The innate virtue and sin of humans are the greatest common factor between people.

In the memory, Sean couldn’t understand what Schultz was trying to express, he kept questioning, but Schultz just smiled and didn’t explain.

Now, Wu Chang understood the meaning of that sentence.

Humans, as a collective term for a group, can identify each other as peers, surely because there is a certain commonality between people, a spiritual commonality beyond the mere biological sense.

This commonality, which Schultz referred to as the greatest common factor between people, is precisely this commonality that defines the concept of being human.

If humans could become gods, the divinity inherent in human nature would be inseparable from the definition as humans, which is virtue and sin.

The Praise Poem plan started in Wildor City for this very moment.

With the deliberate push of the Hymn Company and all shareholders, the wealth gap, survival pressure, Disqualified Monster, and the Hymn Company as the light of the bottom class, these factors drove everyone in Wildor City to polarize towards virtue and sin.

Inside the Hymn Company, extreme virtue and sin are the raw materials for Disqualified Monster and Essence Armor experiments.

Outside the Hymn Company, the virtue and sin of ordinary citizens would make them more susceptible to the influence of the Child of Sin or Schultz himself, and more likely to resonate with the final product of the Praise Poem plan.

Schultz linked all the humans in Wildor City through the commonality between people, which is virtue and sin, fusing his will with the will of everyone, achieving a kind of soul synchronization in a certain sense.

The huge humanoid figure on the ground transformed into Schultz’s appearance, the alternating black and white became Schultz’s original skin color.

At this moment, he truly grasped the divinity in human nature, becoming the Artificial God as planned, the true Praise Poem.
