The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 2589: Chapter 2589: Protecting My Sister (2)

”Empress Dowager, can you guess which one is Lun Dou and which one is Huang Dou?” Jiang Fangfei and Qi Zizi also loved this guessing game.

”This is Lun Dou, no, this is Lun Dou.” The Empress Dowager pointed at one of them.

”Wrong, Lun Dou has a red string on her ankle...”

Others unconsciously gathered around, each with different expressions.

Yang Ruxin didn’t step forward; instead, she stood on the periphery, observing everyone’s expressions.

The noblewomen were all envious and full of praise. Virtuous Concubine Xiao Jin was not only envious but also conflicted. She was the only one sitting still, which made Leng Zhaoyi, who followed her lead, also remain still.

Noble Concubine Xue Lingzhu craned her neck to look at the children, disregarding etiquette, while Noble Concubine Cui Meng... Yang Ruxin found it a bit strange, though she hid it well, Yang Ruxin sensed a complexity in her heart.

But before she could delve deeper, there was an announcement from outside: the Crown Princess Consort was bringing the two Princely Heirs to pay respects to the Empress Dowager.

The Empress Dowager quickly granted permission.

Soon, Crown Princess Consort Shen Junru entered with two maidservants, followed by two wet nurses, each holding a child wrapped in big red cloaks. Once inside, the cloaks were removed, revealing the light yellow jackets and pants underneath.

The Crown Prince’s sons were over nine months old; they could already stand when supported. At the moment, being held, their eyes were wide open, curiously observing the many people around them.

One was expressionless, while the other greeted everyone with a ”shameless smile.”

The two little ones completely inherited the good looks of the Qi family; without a doubt, in a few years, they would become two handsome men.

After each paid their respects, they sat down.

”Xinxin, I’ve been wanting to see the three beans.” The Crown Princess Consort smiled and approached, placing her sons on the brocade blanket as well. ”These two daughters are truly beautiful.” She didn’t use ”I, the royal” to refer to herself, instead using ”I,” clearly trying to build a relationship. ”Oh, and my two have been given bean names as nicknames. The eldest is called Qing Dou, and the second is called Can Dou. Now there are five beans together.”

Yang Ruxin’s mouth twitched, why was everyone obsessed with beans?

Qing Dou and Can Dou could already crawl and usually played together. Seeing three even smaller ones for the first time, they became interested, rolling over and surprisingly in sync, one heading for Lun Dou and the other for Huang Dou. Finding it amusing, they bent down and began to nibble.

This was quite normal. Young children often explored the world using their mouths.

However, at that moment, something magical happened. The originally lying Xiaohei suddenly flipped over, then kicked both Qing Dou and Can Dou’s heads with his little feet.

No one knew if Xiaohei was exceptionally strong or if the two beans weren’t steady; caught off guard and before they could reach the little girls, they were kicked to the ground.

Not knowing what happened, the two beans quickly propped themselves up, but their little faces were filled with bewilderment.

The people around were stunned.

Yang Ruxin was also somewhat incredulous. She looked at Hei Dou, who was also looking at her. Though she knew he couldn’t speak, she felt the little guy was unhappy, blaming her for not protecting his sisters and almost letting them be taken advantage of.

But as soon as this thought came to her, she found it utterly ridiculous and quickly shook her head to dismiss it.
