The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 2522: Chapter 2522: Twin Imperial Grandsons (Part 1)

Beijing, Crown Prince Residence.

Last year, under the care of Yang Ruxin, the Crown Princess Consort finally became pregnant, with twins no less. However, for safety reasons, this was never made public, and even many within the Crown Prince Residence were unaware of her pregnancy.

The Crown Princess Consort, on the other hand, was confined to her quarters by the Crown Prince for contradicting him, forbidden from leaving her courtyard, and was watched over by the Crown Prince’s close guards.

Meanwhile, another concubine announced her pregnancy, much to the delight of the Crown Prince, who elevated her to Consort, showered her with rewards, and stayed at her quarters every night, making her the center of attention for a while.

However, at five months pregnant, the Consort suffered poisoning and miscarried. Although she barely survived, she was left unable to conceive again.

The Crown Prince, furious as he looked at the formed male fetus, took the opportunity to conduct a thorough purge of the Crown Prince Residence.

During her confinement, the Crown Princess Consort safely passed her pregnancy and gave birth to a pair of twins this February, both mother and children were healthy.

This revelation made everyone realize that the Crown Princess Consort’s supposed fall from favor due to contradicting the Crown Prince was merely a means for him to protect her, with the Consort used as a scapegoat.

Yet, no one dared to voice this.

The Emperor was particularly delighted, having people visit Huguo Temple to ask Master Puji to bless his two grandsons, but they were told that because of their exalted status, they could hardly contain such immense wealth. Thus, to ensure their safe growth, grand celebrations or lavish rewards were to be avoided before their first birthday.

The Emperor naturally believed this, so even for their full month, no banquet was held, only a family meal within the Crown Prince Residence, and only a Gold Lock Piece was given each by the Emperor and Empress Dowager as gifts, without any other rewards.

The arrival of two sons further cemented the Crown Prince’s standing, silencing the rumors of him being an ill-fated one, as even if the Crown Prince passed now, he had two sons to inherit.

The arrival of the grandsons also increased Emperor Xuanjing’s approval of the Crown Prince.

Regardless of the changes outside, the Crown Prince remained as he always was, diligently attending to the Emperor’s orders, remaining cordial with court ministers, and never being contentious.

On this day, a heavy rain fell over Beijing from morning, coinciding with a court recess, so the Crown Prince chose to stay in the Crown Prince Residence, and after having breakfast with the Crown Princess Consort, played with his two sons.

The seven-month-old boys were already sitting steadily. Watching their parents play with them excited them immensely, and after playing happily babbling for over an hour, they finally tired and fell asleep.

”Your Highness, they are beginning to look more and more like you,” Shen Junru looked at their sleeping sons and then at the man beside her, feeling completely content.

”Indeed,” Qi Jingchen nodded, ”even their sleeping postures are identical to mine,” he couldn’t help but smile, ”By the way, did you hear that Xinxin gave birth to triplets? Who would’ve thought that Gu Qingheng is this capable...”

Shen Junru blushed a little: ”Your Highness is more capable.”

Qi Jingchen was momentarily stunned but then broke into a wide grin, quite unrestrained.

Shen Junru’s face reddened even further.
