The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 2358: Chapter 2358: The Meng Family’s Misfortune (Part 2)

”You little girl.” Yang Zhenli blushed and stood up, ”By the way, there’s another piece of news, but since we haven’t been there, it can’t be confirmed.”

”Go on.” Yang Ruxin nodded.

”It’s about Hangzhou, where some nobles were heard discussing a piece of news: the merchant ships of the Meng Family from Quanzhou encountered pirates, two were hijacked, and two sank directly. Of all the people who went out to sea this time, only one returned—a worker who survived by clinging to a plank after falling into the sea and was rescued two days later by a passing fishing boat, but both of his legs were frostbitten...”

Yang Ruxin nodded, ”Thank you, Uncle Eight. This news is very important.” At first, the Meng Family operated under the banner of having relations with the Crown Prince, making people around believe they were on good terms with the Crown Prince, even thinking that the Meng Family’s money was earned for the Crown Prince, thus gaining a lot of conveniences.

But how could the Crown Prince be so easily used?

Or it could be said that anyone who survives in the Palace is not a simple character, let alone one who firmly holds the position of Crown Prince beneath him.

Previously, due to health reasons, he may have been unwilling to handle some matters, but now that he’s well, if he continues to let others step over him, then he is not fit to be the Crown Prince.

The total loss of four merchant ships means the Meng Family is likely finished this time.

However, Yang Ruxin had already known about this news long ago, given that Du Juan and Du Man spent so much effort setting up an intelligence network wherever possible. Although not yet comprehensive, some news still transmits quite quickly.

Yang Zhenli nodded at this, ”Alright, then I’ll head back.”

Yang Ruxin got up and escorted him to the door, Uncle Eight’s news further validated the information she had previously received.

The Meng Family is doomed, and the next to face misfortune will be the Du Family, which has marital ties with them.

The Du Family... Yang Ruxin stroked her chin and paced back and forth in the room a few times, then stopped, ”Chun Hua, go and call Uncle Du.”

Outside, Chun Hua responded, and soon after, Du Chengxiu walked in, ”Xinxin.”

”Sit.” Yang Ruxin motioned for Du Chengxiu to sit down, and she personally poured a cup of tea and handed it over.

Du Chengxiu respectfully took it with both hands and took a sip.

”You know about the Quanzhou Meng Family incident, right?”

Du Chengxiu nodded, ”Yes, I know.” All the intelligence collected from surrounding areas would first congregate in his hands, and then he would organize it and report to Yang Ruxin.

”Any thoughts?”

”The Meng Family deserves today’s downfall,” Du Chengxiu deliberated, ”I estimate that unless someone with significant power supports them, it will be very hard for them to rise again.”

”Right,” Yang Ruxin nodded, ”No one would support the Meng Family at this time because they offended the Crown Prince.”

Du Chengxiu smiled, ”I’m actually quite pleased at heart.”

”Then you should know who will be the next to suffer, right?”

”The Du Family.” Du Chengxiu clenched his fist for a moment but then quickly relaxed it.

Yang Ruxin again took the teapot and refilled Du Chengxiu’s cup, ”Do you want to reclaim the Du Family?”

Du Chengxiu looked up, ”I used to think about it, but to be honest, we are satisfied with our current life and don’t want to ruin it.” If they were to fight for it, they would inevitably have to compete, but they were all tired of such a life.

”Then what if I say, I’m interested in the Du Family’s industries?” Yang Ruxin raised an eyebrow slightly.
