The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 1719: Chapter 1719: Stop Being Sentimental (5)

The two of them immediately ran off joyfully to make trouble for Du Chengxiu.

After lunch, the children were supposed to take a nap for an hour, but Zhou Xiao didn’t go back to his room immediately.

”Is something wrong?” Yang Ruxin looked at her.

”Big sister, there is something.” Zhou Xiao hesitated for a moment, then looked up, ”My dad only sent a letter during the New Year, and now it’s been three months...”

”You miss him?” Yang Ruxin looked at the boy in front of her. It had been two years since she brought him and his sister back, and the little guy had been growing quickly with proper nutrition. He’s only nine years old, but already on track to outgrow her. In these two years, she had also grown, but obviously not as fast as him.

Zhou Xiao nodded: ”My sister and I both miss him.”

Yang Ruxin sighed. Last year, General Zhou was assigned to the Western Frontier. It takes about three to four months for a letter to go back and forth, and the Mogul Kingdom to the west is also eyeing our Daxuan. Although they haven’t officially started a war, there have been continuous frictions over the years, so it’s likely he won’t be able to return anytime soon.

”I want an eagle.” Zhou Xiao bit his lip, ”That way, it would be easier to communicate with dad...”

Yang Ruxin helplessly spread her hands: ”I thought about it, but no one has been to where your dad is. Xiaohei and the rest simply can’t find the way... unless someone specifically takes them to the frontier...”

Zhou Xiao’s eyes immediately dimmed.

”How about this, next time a messenger comes, let him take an eagle over, okay?” Yang Ruxin couldn’t bear to see the disappointed expression and immediately suggested, ”As long as he finds your dad, then coming and going won’t be a problem in the future.”

”Thank you, sister.” Zhou Xiao immediately smiled, but waved his hand, ”If they’re not trustworthy, forget it. What if they get envious seeing Spiritual Beasts like Xiaohei? Let’s wait for someone reliable to say.”

Yang Ruxin nodded with relief: ”It’s good that you are thinking so thoroughly. Don’t worry, your dad will be fine... However, I might not be able to spend your birthday with you this year...”

”It’s okay, anyway, Mengmeng will accompany me. She said she’s going to make me a full set of shoes and socks this year...”

”Oh dear, here I was feeling sad, turns out I’m just being overly sentimental?” Yang Ruxin suddenly exaggeratedly clutched her chest, ”Oh dear, the heartbreak...”

Zhou Xiao rolled his eyes with disdain: ”Stop being dramatic, your expression is so fake.” Then he turned and ran, ”I’m off to school...”

Following the tradition of having dumplings when leaving and noodles when returning, the family made three types of dumplings that evening: cabbage and pork, leek and egg, and shrimp three-delicacy.

However, everyone seemed to be eating absent-mindedly.

Yang Ruxin was worried about the family, and the family was deeply concerned about her.

Dong Wenxiu and the Feng Family continuously reminded her to stay safe, and the little ones clung to her hands, unwilling to let her leave, even wanting to go with her.

”Your main task now is to study hard and learn skills, so you can help big sister with the business in the future. Then, big sister will have it easier.” Yang Ruxin patted each little one’s head, ”But you’re too little now...”

”But big sister, you’ll be gone for so long, I’ll miss you.” Erya hugged Yang Ruxin’s neck. She was only a bit over two when she came to Yang Ruxin’s side. Her birth parents left her only memories of fear and sadness, but Yang Ruxin gave her warmth, so now her memories are filled with the days at her aunt’s household, all with her big cousin sister’s voice and smile. In her heart, her aunt is her mother, and her big cousin sister is her real sister.
