The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 1104: Chapter 1104: Manzhi Villa (8)

The Shu Family arranged a grand funeral for Shu Manzhi, but as she was a married daughter, she couldn’t be buried in the Shu family’s ancestral grave. Thus, they purchased a beautiful hilltop in the suburbs and transformed it into Manzhi Villa, where she was laid to rest.

Gu Qingheng had visited twice before, once at Shu Manzhi’s burial, and another time on the third anniversary of her death, the very year the incident occurred. Unexpectedly, three years had passed when he found himself at Manzhi Villa once again.

There were people arranged by the Shu Family guarding the villa.

”Who’s there? Who dares to trespass into Manzhi Villa?” Gu Qingheng and Gu Yao had barely entered the villa’s territory when they were stopped by someone.

”Gu Qingheng.” As he spoke, Gu Qingheng suddenly reached to his waist and pulled out a Soft Sword, raising it high.

The chilling blade unexpectedly bore two characters: Flower-picking.

The two men in black exchanged glances, then suddenly knelt on one knee: ”We have seen the young master.” It was said that the Flower-picking Soft Sword was a unique treasure sword sought out specifically by Changyangzi for his beloved disciple. This sword possessed a high degree of sentience; once it recognized an owner, it would not acknowledge another unless the master died. The only one who could make the Flower-picking Soft Sword emit light was the young master himself.

Gu Qingheng nodded slightly, then proceeded straight inside.

Further inside, there was no one blocking the way.

However, shortly after entering the villa, he heard the distant sounds of a flute.

Gu Qingheng couldn’t help but slow down. By the time he reached the grave, he didn’t make a sound, but instead knelt down and kowtowed three times. Then he stood up, sat down on a nearby stone, and quietly listened to the flute played by the man in white opposite him.

Upon closer inspection, there was a resemblance between Gu Qingheng and the man in white, though the features of Gu Qingheng were slightly more refined.

After a long while, the melody came to an end, and Shu Jingzhi put away the flute, took the wine cup from the ground, and sprinkled its contents on the grave before finally glancing at Gu Qingheng: ”You can stand up now, I believe your mother would be very happy.” His eyes reddened slightly, but he quickly suppressed the surge of emotion and became calm and collected.

”Yes, I have stood up,” Gu Qingheng looked at Shu Jingzhi, his face unrippled by the emotion that shone in his bright eyes. ”And I won’t fall down again in the future.”

”Good child,” Shu Jingzhi patted his nephew’s shoulder, ”these years have been hard on you...”

”Mother, Yeye has survived great hardship, and he will live well from now on. Rest assured, I will reclaim everything owed to me...” Gu Qingheng turned towards the gravestone. ”Mother, I have something to tell you today, you have a daughter-in-law...”

Shu Jingzhi’s eyebrows furrowed slightly, but he said nothing until Gu Qingheng had nearly finished speaking. Then he stood up: ”Let’s go, it’s getting late. Let your mother rest. We’ll come back another day to see her... I lost a big bet to your eldest uncle, I have to help him copy a couple of books when we get back...”

”Heh.” Gu Qingheng took a deep breath, wiped away the tears at the corner of his eyes with a smile, ”It seems that from childhood till now, you’ve never won a bet against eldest uncle, second uncle.”

”Hmm,” Shu Jingzhi sighed helplessly, ”Don’t be fooled by his serious demeanor while teaching; he’s actually quite cunning. I’m simply no match for him.” While speaking, he packed the wine jug and cup back into the basket and glanced at the gravestone. ”Sister, Qingheng is all right now. You don’t have to worry anymore. We are leaving, and we’ll come back to visit you another day...”
