After signing with AC Milan, I will be the king of football!

”There’s no need to be so formal, you can call me Edson.”

”No, I’d rather stick with calling you Pele.”

Huang Kaiwen said, his scalp tingling.

Let’s not get too familiar, or if you call me for no reason, can I even live my life anymore?

”That’s fine, you can call me whatever you like.”

Pele explained with a smile, ”The nickname Pele means ’the annoying one.’ The kids I played soccer with couldn’t beat me, so they gave me this nickname. After I became a professional player, they still called me that, and eventually I got used to it.”

”A strong person can change everything, even a derogatory nickname can become a badge of honor for the strong!” Huang Kaiwen said with a laugh.

”You’re absolutely right.” Pele nodded and said, ”I watched your matches before and felt you were very intelligent; now I’m even more certain that you are a very wise player.”

Huang Kaiwen thought to himself, you just need to substitute ’player’ with ’injured player’ and it would be correct.

You only saw how hard I play on the field.

But you don’t know how hard I work to recover from injuries.

Without a bit of wisdom, I wouldn’t have been able to get even the first contract with AC Milan.

”I really like your playing style, and I hope you can keep being yourself.”

”Which style?”

Huang Kaiwen asked.

”Brazilian style! Playing with Kaka, you’re like Zico and Garincha, Maradona and Caniggia.”

”And you?” Huang Kaiwen asked with a smile, ”Pele with whom?”

”Pele doesn’t need a partner!”

The old football king declared confidently.

Huang Kaiwen found it very interesting.

Pele is awesome, but his teammates were no slouches either.

Claiming that almost sounds like boasting, Huang Kaiwen thought Pele was joking on purpose.

The old man was indeed very humorous.

The two of them had a great chat, and Huang Kaiwen even forgot about the curse.

That evening, the team arranged for everyone to have dinner with Pele.

Everyone was happy.

Pele got a bit drunk and, wrapping his arm around Huang Kaiwen’s shoulder, said, ”When your heart is full of love, you can steadfastly walk the right path. I know how it feels to wear the same team’s jersey every day, just like you. You declined many big clubs, and that was a wise decision. I know nothing feels better than family. Congratulations on having a perfect career in Milan! Sadly, stories like ours, focusing on a single club for a long time, are becoming rarer in world football. I admire you a lot!”

Damn!

He still couldn’t avoid it.

On the way home with the butler.

Huang Kaiwen buckled his seatbelt.

He gripped the handle above the car door tightly.

And kept reminding the butler to drive slower.

Albert looked at a passing bicycle and then at the 20 mph speedometer, not knowing how much slower he could go.

Huang Kaiwen felt, maybe he should seek Ancelotti’s help in breaking Pele’s curse.

But on second thought, He decided against it.

Fat Ancelotti and Pele.

Whether it’s the sleeping dragon and the fledgling phoenix, who knows whose power might be greater.

Looking out at the scenery through the car window, Huang Kaiwen sighed.

The football world is indeed fraught with peril.

Every day for him was not easy.

He felt unable to sleep when he got home, so he and the young lady worked out together.

In the end, she was too tired and fell asleep straight away.

Huang Kaiwen, who didn’t sleep well, got up early.

The young lady had already prepared breakfast and handed over the newspaper with a smile, saying, ”Look, even Pele is singing your praises.”

Huang Kaiwen: ...

He picked up the newspaper.

”Turin Sport Report” managed to interview Pele yesterday. Pele was quoted in the newspaper saying, ”Kevin is a remarkable player, watching his games brings joy and pleasure. I watch every one of them; I’m a loyal fan. Since I retired, he must be the best player in football. He’s won the Ballon d’Or, but I can assure you, this won’t be his last time.”

After reading it,

Huang Kaiwen breathed a sigh of relief.

He thought it was something serious.

It turned out Pele was just talking about the Ballon d’Or.

So what if he never won the Ballon d’Or in the future?

Compared to life safety, the Ballon d’Or is nothing.

Not long after the young miss left,

Huang Kaiwen received a call from Pele.

The legendary player planned to visit his home with Kaka.

Huang Kaiwen tearfully agreed once more.

There’s no avoiding it, huh?

Then let them come.

Being cursed once more wouldn’t make much difference.

When he heard the doorbell ring, Huang Kaiwen opened the door to see an unexpected person.

”Chen?”
