Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 1042: Chapter 1033: Really Want to Beat Myself Up...

”Actually, my father and godfather came at first, but they left after a glance. After all, with them around, we can’t really relax. What’s wrong with you?”

”Ulti actually gave gifts to someone other than Page One... Jack, that guy, has a gentle side too... If you’re really me... then there’s a huge gap between us...

I only remember the year my father locked me up; someone who violated his rules wanted to give me food and was executed on the spot...

He’s just a bastard, actually attending a birthday party...”

When it comes to sailing, ”Yamato” is only envious, trapped on Ghost Island, longing for freedom; however, the other person’s living environment and harmonious interpersonal relationships make ”Yamato” jealous.

The same person living entirely different lives in two worlds.

”I agree with ’Kaidou is a bastard,’ that crazy old dad’s brain is abnormal to begin with, looks like you’re even worse off than I am.”

”Right, right, you think that guy’s a bastard too.”

The way to build friendship is to first find a common enemy. On the matter of Kaidou being a bastard, the two surprisingly reach an agreement, which warms their relationship quickly.

”You’ve seen it now, it’s just a plain sailing log. Everyone has their own voyage. You can’t throw away your existence because of some text. You should seek your adventure instead of betting yourself on that Oden.

You act like you’ve been brainwashed. I don’t see that diary having such magic power.”

”But... Oden really is the most free person on this sea, right? He can go sailing, and I’m just stuck here....”

Considering herself as Kozuki Oden, this notion has existed in ”Yamato’s” mind for 19 years and won’t change by a few sentences.

If it weren’t for the fact that the person in front of her was ”herself,” she probably wouldn’t even listen to these words.

Although Yamato showed her through actions that everyone has their own life, changing perceptions is not so easy.

”He’s free not because he’s Oden, but because he has some strength. If you can knock down ’Kaidou,’ wouldn’t you be able to find your freedom?

The issue isn’t that Oden, but the strength, the strength!”

At this moment, Yamato even somewhat understands Kaidou; when something can’t be explained no matter what, using the stick takes far less effort than using the brain.

Looking at her own Oden-obsessed self, Yamato even felt an impulse to beat herself up.

”I’m telling you, if you weren’t me, I’d really want to burn your diary. I’m just saying, don’t look at me with that kind of expression.”

Seeing ”Yamato’s” wary expression, Yamato signaled to her not to be so tense.

Though she thinks being brainwashed by a diary is ridiculous, she understands herself. If something cherished is destroyed, the feeling would be especially painful. She wants herself to recognize the gap, but not in such a crude way.

”Really, why do I feel like I’ve suddenly become a parent? Don’t you want adventure? I’ll take you out so you can experience the sea, then think about this stuff.

You want to open Wano Kuni, and I agree with that, but you should do it as the second-generation Captain of Hundred Beasts after defeating Kaidou, not in Oden’s name.

And all of this requires strength; come back after you’ve gotten stronger to do this. Do you have any issues with that?”

”Can you take me away from here? But these handcuffs... I’ve told you, haven’t I? These are the handcuffs that bastard father put on me; they explode as soon as I leave Ghost Island....”

”They’re just lousy handcuffs, wait, I’ll get them off for you.”

Grabbing ”Yamato’s” hands, Yamato directly condensed a key from cold air, easily unlocking ”Yamato’s” handcuffs.

This is the convenience of ice; there’s no need for violent disassembly when she can directly craft a key for herself.

”Wow, thank you. This lousy thing has restricted me for 19 years! Speaking of which, it seems like father isn’t so heartless since this thing didn’t explode.”

”Use your brain a bit! It didn’t explode because I made the key, as for the handcuff itself....”

Yamato grabbed those handcuffs and threw them into the sky, which then exploded fiercely, turning into dazzling flames in mid-air.

”Remember, don’t trust Kaidou. That guy’s head is full of ways to torture people, but if he makes threats, they will definitely be realized.”

Yamato shared her experiences with ”Yamato” about Kaidou, but ”Yamato” seemed not to listen, with her worldview being reshaped once again.
