Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 1008: Chapter 1000: Whitebeard’s Curtain Call, A New Era Named Hundred Beasts

Kaidou also knew Whitebeard’s purpose, but he didn’t complain about anything, after all, both sides were fighting with the intent to kill each other.

But in fact, Whitebeard failed.

”Kaidou, you won...”

With stubborn vitality, Whitebeard did not die immediately. Leaning on Murakumogiri, Whitebeard still maintained a standing posture.

At this moment, Shaina and King had already returned here with the Radio Snail.

”Make the era bow to you... Kaidou, I’ll give you one last gift...”

”Hmm? What are you up to this time?”

”Gulalala, it’s not really a gift for you, I just don’t want the Navy to get their wish...”

A mouthful of blood surged from Whitebeard’s mouth. Watching as King tossed the Radio Snail towards Sengoku, Whitebeard also steeled his resolve.

Then, with his last bit of strength, Whitebeard shouted out his defining words.

”ONE PIECE! Exists for real!”

As his words fell, Whitebeard left this world peacefully with his eyes closed. In the end, there was no resentment in his heart, only worry for his children.

[Farewell, my children. Thank you for spending the latter part of my life with me, but the road ahead is one you must walk on your own...]

Past memories flashed through Whitebeard’s mind like a revolving lantern, and his time was forever marked here.

Therefore, Captain of the Whitebeard Pirates, the world’s strongest man, Whitebeard - Edward Newgate ended his life at the age of 72.

In this battle, Whitebeard suffered a total of 127 cuts, 147 bullet wounds, and 34 cannonball hits.

There were seven burns from magma, 11 laser wounds, 23 blunt force injuries, and one fatal wound.

But until death, Whitebeard’s body never fell, and throughout his entire pirate career, there was not a single scar on his back from retreating.

...

Zap!

A laser pierced through the air; Kizaru’s attack directly destroyed the Image Radio Snail. But it was all too late, for even though the snail was spinning and its image was unclear, Whitebeard’s words had already spread across the world.

Following this sentence, Whitebeard’s body underwent a mutation.

Just like a shattered glass man, his entire body was covered with cracks, and as the cracks intensified, his body eventually turned into dust and scattered across the entire battlefield, even his long-accompanied weapon broke into two under the strain.

Containing the tremors within his body was already a tremendous burden, and Kaidou’s final Dragon God Hakken had injected a massive amount of Dragon Type power into Whitebeard’s body, leading to this ultimate result.

”Father!!!!”

Looking at the fading Whitebeard, Ace was deeply agitated and even broke away from the people trying to pull him back, wanting to rush forward, but what he met was Marco’s fist.

Marco didn’t hold back at all; this punch landed solidly on Ace’s face.

”Ace, listen to me! All of this is because of you today! This was Father’s own choice. From now on, your life is no longer yours alone; it’s Father’s, it’s Oars’, it’s brought back by everyone who died in battle!

Father’s wish is for the rest of us to live and go back, so no matter what, you have to live!

Whether it’s sadness or remorse, you must carry this sin and live! On! That! You mustn’t do anything stupid that courts death!”

Marco’s eyes were filled with tears, but he still pinned Ace beneath him.

Grief enveloped the Whitebeard Pirates; captains who hadn’t even frowned when facing life-or-death situations were now bursting into tears one after another.

Even the carefree Luffy chose to remain silent without uttering a word. If it were any other situation, he certainly wouldn’t sit by and watch his brother getting hit, but now was different.

The eyes of Mr. 3, who had been ”kidnapped,” were vacant; he never thought he would witness such a massive scene in his lifetime.

However, among the crowd of onlookers, there was one person who was extremely special.

”Godfather, I beg you, please don’t offer new things to that devil, Father!!”
