Arceus's Pirate Journey

Looking at the Artificial Devil Fruit in Kaidou’s hand, Arceus was quite puzzled. He remembered the effects of this thing. Known as SMILE, even though it was an Artificial Devil Fruit, its success rate was very low.

There’s a high chance of losing all emotions, able only to laugh regardless of what happens.

Even if powers were obtained, they were far from complete, and the user might gain only partial abilities.

An uncontrollable transformation, with strange transformation locations, Arceus couldn’t understand what Kaidou wanted with this thing.

”You don’t know its side effects?”

”I know, that joker guy told me. He wouldn’t dare lie to me about this.”

Before delivery, Doflamingo certainly checked the effects of the goods, and he hadn’t kept any secrets about the possible side effects with Kaidou. If anything happened as a result, Doflamingo couldn’t bear the consequences.

”You still want it?”

”You don’t get it. Back in the battlefield, if I confiscated the enemy’s roasted meat, I’d eat it, but I wouldn’t throw away those nasty rations. I’d take them back to distribute or keep for later.”

Kaidou used himself as an example and expressed his thoughts.

”Your ability is very powerful. The power of those mythical creatures is far stronger than this thing. But those who are worthy of your power must be tested. This thing is more convenient.

Some people will never obtain your power in their lifetime, but even fodder has its value. This thing is suitable for them. Having some ability is better than having none, right?”

”Do you really want to buy this?”

”Well, it’s somewhat useful, isn’t it? If it doesn’t work, throwing it to Queen as ammunition isn’t a bad idea either.”

”Do as you wish, but... lower the price by 90%.”

”Why?”

”Because the success rate is just one in ten! Do you really want your people to eat those failed products?”

Glancing at those samples, Arceus had already made up his mind. What Caesar made was just a half-finished product in Arceus’s eyes. Out of ten, nine were not worth eating, and the last one required further processing.

That’s not difficult for him. What Caesar created didn’t necessarily have a high success rate. Out of about ten, only one was a finished product.

He’s not trying to give these fruits Pokemon Abilities through processing, just planning to help Kaidou slightly improve them. This would make consuming them no different from an ordinary Zoan-type Fruit.

As Kaidou mentioned, this power was for the grunts, giving those with no hope of becoming officers a bit of hope. For them, ordinary abilities were sufficient.

This improvement didn’t eliminate the side effects; he wasn’t planning on another delicate operation like extracting Dragon Fruit Seeds, just a simple augmentation to make it a normal fruit for Arceus, like cutting an apple in half, with no difficulty in the task.

”Ohoho, I knew you could handle this. I’ll leave it to you, then. It seems there’s news of your Plate recently, so I’ll go check it out first.”

Saying that, Kaidou flew directly off Ghost Island, leaving the subsequent arrangements to ultimately fall on Queen.
