Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 789: Chapter 788: Who Could Refuse a Duck That Comes With Its Own Leek?

Behind Setsuna and Zeraora, you could still see the Bewear plowing the fields. The things Bepo used to carry on his back were now carried by Bewear.

Bepo thought Bewear was having an easy time, assuming those things weren’t very heavy, until today when Bewear came to help in the fields, he realized just how heavy those things truly were.

At this moment, Bewear was plowing the fields, while Setsuna and Zeraora were planting leeks. Ludicolo bounced merrily past, its leaf hat scattering water drops, completing the irrigation work.

It looked like a harmonious scene, though it was quite rare for Setsuna and Zeraora to personally farm, especially planting leeks.

Miaona compared with her hand and found that the leeks were thicker than her arm, while Wolf’s reaction was more straightforward; despite having wolf fur, he took a bite.

”It’s sweet, mom, let’s make oden tonight.”

”All you think about is eating. We’ll see about it later; these leeks have other uses for now. Wait until they’re selected.”

”They?”

”These are birthday gifts from Lord Arceus, and they’ll accompany your training in the future, which is coming soon. Remember, don’t just want everything you see.

You should only take what Lord Arceus gives you, and you can’t forcefully take what’s not given, understand?”

Setsuna crouched down to educate her children, while Zeraora silently listened.

Shaymin’s appearance was quite special, but she wasn’t Queen’s pet, at most a partner or a companion, and in terms of familial hierarchy, Shaymin was a generation older than the two little ones.

In the sky nearby, a few bird-like creatures with yellow beaks flew over. Upon landing, they rushed towards the leeks immediately.

”Quack-mo”

They were covered in deep brown feathers, with distinctive feathers standing atop their heads.

With a V-shaped pattern resembling eyebrows on their foreheads, coupled with their slightly sharp gaze, these ducks appeared somewhat dashing.

These were Galar Farfetch’d. For them, these leeks were their second life, and they hurried here to look for suitable leeks.

Setsuna and Zeraora planted leeks to welcome the arrival of the Galar Farfetch’d.

Unlike ordinary Farfetch’d, Galar Farfetch’d are Fighting Type, but that doesn’t affect their ability to fly.

Their muscles were more developed than ordinary Farfetch’d, yet their body structure hadn’t changed significantly. They rarely flew, as flying with leeks wasn’t convenient.

When in urgent need of new leeks, they would fly.

As for putting down the leeks, it’s not impossible, but unnecessary.

The reason they evolved into regional forms was due to leeks unique to Galar, which were a mix of chives and leeks, a special stem-like plant.

Because of their weight, Galar-active Farfetch’d gradually developed more muscles, a more combative nature, and unique evolutions.

Why Galar Farfetch’d instead of ordinary Farfetch’d? They were to counter the energetic Miaona and Wolf, requiring Fighting Type Pokémon to match their energy levels.

What Setsuna and Zeraora planted were these special Galar leeks, crucial to Farfetch’d, not just as a weapon but for nesting material and emergency food reserves.

Every Farfetch’d has a different fighting style, as there are many ways to wield a leek.

For Farfetch’d, they can’t survive without the leek, and since there are good and bad leeks, they sometimes fight each other for them.

At this moment, these Farfetch’d were meticulously selecting leeks, searching for the one most suitable for them.

In a nearby pond, a group of ordinary ducks watched the newly arrived Farfetch’d, with several ducks having hearts in their eyes.

This was also the development trend of Farfetch’d. Much like Tauros, the original Farfetch’d were ordinary Pokémon, but their mixed descendants would become new poultry products, similar to the wagyu beef of Wano Kuni.

”They seem delicious...”

Looking at the Farfetch’d before him, Bepo drooled. For the Fur Race, fish, Sea Beasts, and fowls were their sources of meat, with fowls being a rare delicacy.

Though Bepo merely joked, the Farfetch’d selecting leeks heard him loud and clear.

”Quack-mo?” [Is he thinking of eating us?]

”Quack-mo...” [Seems like it...]

”Quack-mo!” [Let’s beat him up!]

”So... sorry, I didn’t mean it that way, I wasn’t planning to eat you, just thought you looked delicious...”

The Farfetch’d didn’t care to hear Bepo’s explanations and charged with leeks in hand, ganging up on the white bear.
